As I mentioned I was driving a 2007 Avalanche. I was rear-ended in freeway traffic about a month ago. Insurance totaled it. I had a 2015 Ram for a rental until last week. While my 2016 Silverado is on order my father offered me his as it sits in the garage most of the time. I went to pick it up from him in a town that is 3 hours away. I took my 8500 and mounted it on the drivers side of the mirror as I drove home on I-40 & US 93. His 2015 has Lane Departure Alerts and I was "testing" it as it is a new thing to me. I didn't really have any false positives. It was really a quiet trip. I didn't visually see any highway patrols on my return trip. I guess I will test it some more with his truck until mine comes in. I don't really want to have to buy a new detector at this point.

Have the BEl  STI  its served  me well but now we have Laser threats and for that a detector is useless Got 2 tickets last year in Ohio 12 over both times  needing the lazer protection

Waze works very good for me when traveling I-35 between San Antonio and DFW area.  Need to send in my V1 to be updated as the falses from lane departure systems make it nearly useless.  Instead of 15-20 over now I maintain 7-10 over the limit without the V1.

No updates available for 9500ix.  Plan on spending $$$$$$ for a Max2 or V1 if you are looking for the latest/greatest detector that will not drive you crazy with lane departure falses.

      Here's the second UOA on my 22 Wrangler with the Ecodiesel. This has 5k miles on AMSOIL Signature Series DEO 5w-40. The first one was dealer installed oil, no clue what it was, the second is what AMSOIL recommended, European FS 5w-40, Most of the Ecodiesel world is showing great results using the European MS 5w-40, I figured I would see how the DEO works. This is using an Ecoguard oil filter. It's my understanding this engine likes to shed aluminum.  We will see. So far I don't think this is too bad.

      I'm surprised nobody seems to offer a solution like the start/stop device I put in my new truck. Remembers my setting when shutdown. And while it still starts up in start/stop, it stores/evaluates what mode it was in when shut down and will change it whithin a second or 2 of startup. It'd be nice to have something like that for the DRLs.

      2015 Sierra 1500 here. Leaks from the sunroof to front driver side and soaks carpet. How do I fix this? Thanks!

      I will be doing that for sure, but I need to solve who has/ where I can find a bidirectional scan tool that will support OBD 1.5. I'm kicking myself because I ebay'ed a Snap On MT2500 that I didn't think I'd ever need anymore. D'oh!! I'd rather not buy another, so I'll contact a few local shops to see if they have one and how much they'd want to do the procedure. I'd rather have the ability to do it myself... I wish there was a modern tool that could do it all, but I'd have no idea what to buy.   The theory with the pulled timing is that it mimics a rich condition. The delayed spark causes incomplete burn and the O2 sensor picks up low oxygen levels. That's interpreted as a rich condition so the PCM pulls fuel and that shows up in the deeply negative fuel trims.
