Bedrug Installation

Autoanything had the best price for my mat and tailgate mat.

No drilling. Just velcro.

It is an inch or so short so the tgate closes.

Easy install...nice product.

Thanks. Any issues with the leading edge of the mat coming up when you put things in the bed?

The leading edge (the edge where tailgate meets bed) is connected to the tailgate mat via a zippered flap. When tailgate is opened, this provides a fairly seem less mat from tailgate into the bed. No gap between tailgate and bed.

Is that what you are asking?

I went with the Bedrug mat and it works great. If you go with just the Bedrug mat, be sure get the tailgate mat as well. It's soooooo much better on the knees. Bedrug sends and activator that you wipe the spray in bedliner down prior to applying the Velcro. I've got the Retrax Pro MX cover and it stays nice and clean.

That's correct if I get the GMC branded full bedrug. If I get the standard bedrug branded one, there is no zipper - it is simply sewn/connected - and if I get the two pieces (bottom mat and tailgate mat), there is a gap of no material between the bed and tailgate. That's the option I was concerned about. I actually just sent bedrug a note asking if they intended to offer an option of bedmat and tailgate mat connected and zippered. Haven't gotten a response yet.

Anyone install these in the cold? Like below 32 degrees? How is the adhesion? I just bought one and it will be here on Monday. The instructions say to install at temperatures above 68...

Did mine in summer. The adhesion is a little foam pad that you wipe over the area you attach the velcro to and was the bare minimum. The spray in bedliner eats it up pretty good.

Ok - just pulled the trigger on the mat and tailgate mat. Got them off of Amazon. Didn't go with the whole kit. In the end, I figured this was what I needed and was significantly cheaper than the full set. I'll post my review once installed! Thanks for all of the help with deciding!

Well, I'm not to happy with mine. I took it to a buddies heated garage to install and suffice to say I don't think the truck bed was "hot" enough. Only about half of the supplied velcro stuck. I can't decide if I want to keep it or not. Anyone use Bedrugs 30 day guarantee?

Seems stupid that you have to wait to 68+ plus degrees to get these installed. If you are above the mason dixon line, you can only install it 6 months out of the year. I just installed an AVS aeroskin that used double sided tape in 40 degree weather with no adhesion problems. Cmon bedrug!!!

Yes I prepped the surface with alcohol. It was on the metal of the bed. I returned it and Bedrug ended up giving me a full refund.

FYI....2007-13 Bedrugs will fit 2014 and up. I bought a used Bedrug from a 2012 Silverado and it fit my 2015 perfectly. All tie down holes lined up.

As I recall, there were two issues with installation of my Bedrug related to the ambient temp - yes, it was "cold" here, around 40 degrees when I started. My Bedrug came in a box that made it somewhat mashed or wadded up so there were a lot of folds - basically it didn't smooth out until the weather got warmer. And then when the box was cold, no matter the prep (used a lot of alcohol to prep after cleaning the bed box), it didn't stick good until after the weather warmed up. I reached out to Bedrug to just send me some new 3M strips after it warmed up and all is fine. All of the wrinkles worked out and it stuck good.

But I'm in a lot warmer climate than dave07 is. I don't know how I'd get it installed in a colder climate...
