No jack with new trucks? RTFM!

I just realized, because i was going on another 400 mile road trip, that the new GM trucks to not come stock with a jack. Has anyone noticed this and found a good jack to carry in the truck with them?

My last truck, 1995 sierra, came stock with a jack and a place to keep. Did they stop doing this awhile ago? This is my first new truck purchase

Mine is mounted under the rear seat. Flip it up and the jack will be under the rear passenger side, and the extensions/handle is under the rear driver's side. Hope it's the same for you. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I was going to look in the owners manual but just thought i'd post on here instead of going all the way to my truck. I've had my rear seats up for about a month now and didn't even realize the jack tucked back under there. They really have it hidden pretty well.

That's why I tell everybody with all equipment, Trucks, TV's, appliances, ect... READ THE MANUAL!!! I have read mine all the way through. Even twice, it is amazing though what you still miss. I was trading in my 2013 after three years and then found out that you did not need the key in to see the odometer. You just needed to push the button in the gauge cluster. Lol.

Unfortunately I had to use mine recently. I gotta say, the jack itself is pretty impressive and easy to use. It's not an aluminum floor jack, no, but it gets the job done admirably. Kinda a pain to get out and back under the seat, but it's very secure there.

Agree wholeheartedly. I have a soft copy of the Owners Manual and Infotainment Guide on my iPad / MacBook in iBooks just for that reason.

Mine worked good to put on my Borla exhaust. Floor jack would have been easier but the stock one got the job done.

Don't be surprised if it disappears at some point. Our Hyundai Sonata doesn't include spare tire or jack. It isn't even possible to add it as an option.

The flip side - Hyundai has 5-year free roadside assistance (along with the 5/60K bumper-to-bumper).

Still...I can change a tire in half the time I sit there waiting.
