I have a odd thing going on where I'll be at highway speeds and as the highway starts to curve , I will start to slightly turn the steering wheel. Odd part is sometimes it feels like the tires or steering wheel will fight me for 1 sec and then let me continue turning the steering wheel. Hoping this makes sense. So it's almost like it won't let me physically turn the steering wheel for like 1-2 sec and then it lets go. It's actually annoying but can be dangerous

Thanks guys. Yes I will for sure take it in.

Some small issues but truck is awesome.

Does yours have LKA - lane keep assist? (RPO code UHX, part of the Y86 Enhanced Driver Alert Package)

Does it do this when you are changing lanes without using the blinker?

Yes I have the lane assist. It doesn't do it when changing lanes. just when highway slowly starts to curve.

I just bought the 2016 Denali too. This is the lane keep assist you are experiencing for sure! It won't do it as much when you change lanes because it senses your "more deliberate" manual input to the steering wheel and the computer recognizes that your are trying to change lanes. If you very slowly change lanes or let the steering wheel go on straight roads, it thinks you are "drifting" and you will notice it trying to steer you back as soon as your tires get near or on the dividing lines. The lines have to be in good shape so that the camera behind your rear-view mirror can sense them. If the lines are faded, the lane keep assist won't try to work.

I have been having fun just completely letting go of the steering wheel (on smooth straight roads early in the morning when there's no traffic around me) to watch it drive itself. It doesn't do it perfectly...kind of bounces between the lane lines, but cool nonetheless!

Lane keep assist will do nothing if the blinker is used to indicate intention to 'cross line' on road.

The feeling you are describing is what it feels like when drifting to/over a line without blinker and with lane keep active.

Find a place without traffic and let it drift to the line so it can nudge you back. You'll be able to verify that it is the lane keep or that your steering has another issue.

Sort of a 'ping pong' effect.

Caution for others is that if it approaches a line on a sharp enough angle, it will not try and nudge you back.

(Clearly self driving is not here yet -- but it's coming. Full size suv also has 'auto cruise' that slows you down in traffic and speeds back up when traffic clears.)

My opinion on this feature is to leave it turned "off" during normal day-to-day city driving because it's just going to be an annoyance. I see its benefit being on long HWY trips where fatigue, distraction or boredom may cause you to drift near the lane markers. May help you to appear to be a more focused driver to other vehicles ;-)

On the other hand, if lane changes are signaled and the vehicle doesn't wander to the edge of the lane, then it doesn't do anything.

If it is 'nudging' the vehicle, it means the driver could have been doing a better job.

I'm finding that the LKA is nudging my steering wheel a lot less now than when I first got the truck. :happysad:

I do find it interesting that the steering wheel nudge of (LKA) lane keep assist occurs closer to the edge of the lane than what (LDW) lane departure warning did on the my previous truck.
