My 2015 SLT has the 8 Speed but I really cannot notice much difference from the 2009 V6 6 Speed that I had. It's better once I am up to speed but pitiful off the line.

Yea, I have driven an new GM 8 Speed and It really didn't handle all that better than the 6 speed. They are similar architecture, so Im not surprised.

well the eco is meant for economy and towing. so that's to be expected.

The Hemi is very quick on its feet. Even though "the numbers" say that the ford and gm trucks are faster and lighter. My dad's ram feels a lot more powerful than my 5.3. His truck will throw you back in the seat when you stomp on the gas. And without hesitation. The transmission just knows where to go. Something that is really bothersome in the 6 speed units GM still uses.

A friend of mine has a 2015 Hemi and I have drove and ridden in it. It sure does feel a lot more powerful than my truck when you stomp on it and the transmission is smoooooth. But it is kinda weird that when we raced from a dead stop (it was not on a highway), I beat him by almost my entire truck length to 90 mph.

I have a 5.3 with a catback. Everything else is stock. He has dual exhaust on his

I test drove two different rams when I was shopping in 2014. Both had the 5.7 with the 3.92 rear gear. Loved the way that truck drove and the transmission was good but not great but still better acting than my silverado. Finding a ram in an ext cab with a bench seat with the options that my silverado has was near impossible though. All the dealers near me were all crew cabs with the center console except for the express models and they were bare bones inside. I also did not like the dial for putting the truck in gear but I guess a person would get used to it. I liked all the trucks that were out in 2014 and drove them all and priced them all and the silverado I bought had the most options for the least amount of money. No other brand would come off near 25% and give me what I wanted for my trade at the time.

Yea that part was about as gay as you can get

Sorry David, did I hurt your feelings?

Lol no not at all. I bolded the part about the dial to put it in gear.. I was referring to that in my post. Using a dial to put your truck is gear is pretty gay. Even my 2015 Mercedes has a column shift you move up and down to put it in gear...

Sorry David, I thought you meant my whole post was "alternative". The dial thing is different and I think if it was the only vehicle I drove on a daily basis I would get used to it but I drive a company truck as well as the better halfs. I know I would be looking for the gear shift on the column when I drove it on the weekends.
