I see no g80

You do not have the limited slip differential.

I had a 98 GMC Sonoma 2wd I bought new and quickly realized trucks need a locker or 4wd. I've since owned 3 4x4 jeeps and now my 2014 GMC Crew 4x4 with G80 locker.

So if I just get one of these off eBay it should go in without a problem and no other needed parts right?

I dont think that is even the right unit. It is listed as being for an 8.5 inch differential, but I am pretty sure the 2014-16 trucks that are not tow max have a 9.5 inch differential.

I just checked the model number listed on that ebay listing and according to Amazon, and another ebay listing, that unit will not fit.

For a 2015 you are limited on what carriers you can run for direct swap. I think they have a Tru Trac and a clutch pack limited slip and of course the gov junk oem thing. But with the right bits a 9.5" 14 bolt carrier from 2013 and prior will work and then you can buy anything. The aftermarket is pathetically dragging ass on making parts for these trucks.

Why does everyone trash the G80??

I have beat mine to hell in my colorado and it has been nothing but amazing.

And i have blown 6 transmissions.... Long story short.... A lot of nitrous.... Moving on

Drag radials and with my 3200 stall off the line i spray after the 60ft literally 100s of passes and i have yet to have a problem with my G80. The one in my work truck also takes an absolute beating and hols up just fine.

The G80 is good locker and I also don't know why people bash it. I drive off road for a living and have had 3 GM trucks with the G80 and never a problem and I also never go into 4wd unless I need to, just let the locker do the work for me. If you give it hell and abuse it then yes it may explode but you are going to have to be pretty darn hard on it. My current work truck is a f150 with an electronic locker which I kind of like but I have to remember to engage it before I head up a muddy logging road and many times I don't remember till I start sliding sideways.
