Train horn

Sorry to be a bit late in jumping in on this thread. We are working on a horn kit for the 2014-16 GM 1500s. It will be similar to the GMTRK-2 we build for the 2008-13 1500s. It will be bolt-on and not require drilling or cutting. When it is ready to release we will be looking for some PreProduction Product Testers.

In a nutshell, we will make the kit available at a small discount and it will come with a list of items we would like completed by the tester. Complete all the tasks within the prescribed time and you will get a check back further reducing your cost.

When we get to that point we will post it on this thread and it will be on our New Products page on our web site.

If you will PM me with your name, vehicle, email address and telephone number I will send you an email when we are ready for testing.

Will the testers be required to run Kleinn air tanks? I know they go in the second battery slot under the hood but I know I'd love to be a tester but also have plans for a second battery as my next investment that will go in that slot under the hood

I don't think you can charge a person for manslaughter because he got scared and died of cardiac arrest. That would make no sense.

I have been driving for over 45 years and can't think of a situation where a louder horn would have improved the desired outcome of the stock horn. The only purpose of a louder horn for the regular driver is to provoke another driver or a pedestrian. The use of loud horns by the impatient or inexperienced has tremendous potential for creating an unsafe condition. These should only be used by professional drivers of emergency vehicles and big rigs.

You've never had anyone drive in your lane looking down at their phone texting and YOU have to swerve out of the way to avoid a head on collision? I can't count how many times I've had to do that this past year.

I know how frightening this scenario could be, however a louder horn will not improve the outcome. In this example, alerting a distracted driver to stay in their lane is your immediate objective. It still means the distracted driver was in the wrong but you're safe. Scaring the crap out of a distracted driver with an extraordinarily loud horn will put the driver into a panic mode and their first response or reaction may not be on correcting their driving! Or, if the purpose of a loud horn is to punish the other driver, this is about as effective as road rage. Driving can be very frustrating. I also drive a motorcycle and see a lot of people driving blind to their surroundings. Keep yourself safe.

Well put, also train horns are illegal on a vehicle. Only reason people put these on there vehicles are to scare people and show off look at meee look at meee. Like I said piss off the wrong person blowing those horns then your going to have a problem on your hands.

The loudest you can buy are genuine Nathan K5LA horns. VERY BIG and extremely loud. Like ear bleeding loud. I have the Shocker XL horns. A better alternative. Cheaper, light weight,yet still plenty loud (audible up to 2 miles). I don't go around honking at people though. Use them responsibly.

Sorry I missed this one. Been on the road lately. For the GM kits in the works the answer is yes. We are looking for testers for the complete vehicle specific kit. Keep watching though. We have a new GM kit of the 1500 GMs that will mount a larger tank and compressor on the frame rail. This kit will drive our largest horn, The Demon #730. Will start posting some sneak peaks as soon as engineering has a couple of the later version prototypes. Keep watching here or our web site www.kleinn.com. I have my old Kleinn horns from my old truck in the basement. Small compressor, round tank and horns. They were awesome. I would love to have a new set for my '14 now.

Kleinn Air Horns to me was the best one i seen! 100% bolt on no trying to figure out where to mount. Just about everything you need to get the job done comes with the kit. The one i have is for 2007 (new body style) to 2017 GM half-ton trucks and full-size SUVs. They were bolt right on. No playing around trying to get them in. Quick installation video

I had singed up for the tester but the test price was nuts almost a grand then you got credit for video ect.

Hope fully the finshed product will be more Reasonably priced

really? I signed up to be a tester over a year ago and never heard a word about them. Glad to hear this tho as I have given up on waiting for the bolt on kit and am making my at this point. Will be a hell of a lot cheaper than a grand as well!

They cracked down pretty hard on big horns in socal a while back. I don't hear them much any more. Seems like the entertainment value is short lived vs cost and installation, not to mention legal, moral and social issues. Not for me.
