Collision this morning. Repairable or totaled?

Was going 15-20 in a 40 this morning in bad conditions. Hit some black ice and rear end got loose. Slid sideways across road into a Toyota. Nothing I could do. Took off when it started sliding. Fortunate I was able to wheel it so I didn't hit drivers side first. All airbags went off, windshield cracked, hood smashed, grille, bumper, s***** SRA tire flat.

Question is...repairable or totaled.

Can't see enough in that picture to even make a guess if its a total loss or not. Is everyone OK?

Yeah me and other driver are fine. I just have a sore shoulder since I already have a torn rotator cuff. Nothing major. Fortunately I won't be getting cited by police. Buddy was cop on duty and first to arrive. Not much else I could do driving 20 under the limit. Thankful to be un-harmed.

Seen worse on this forum get fixed by insurance rather than totaled. Granted in those cases I don't think all their airbags went off which will better your chances if totaling is what your hoping for. Probably gonna be a longgg fix though. Please update with damage specifics and how it goes with insurance. Sorry it happened to ya man.

Sorry about the truck and for the other guy. Maybe winter rated tires should be on the wish list. I know they are worth their value, I used to run them 7-8 months of the year.

Wow from pittsburgh myself. Sorry about your truck. The roads were really bad this morning. If no frame damage, it looks fixable.

Frame repair don't matter. No way they total it. My buddy had a new at the time 2012. Had 8K miles and did 24K in damage. Frame bend air bags everything. Said it was worth 28K (LTZ). Did an entire frame off restoration. Still driving it and says it runs great. They told him they can use used parts to fix as well as long as the parts have less miles then his truck. For him it was so new it didn't matter. Good luck.

This was Youngstown area.

Other than the picture and briefly looking it over I don't know full extent of damage. Happened on a slight bend on hill so once me and other driver were out and ok. we started stopping traffic from both directions. I'll find out tomorrow what the deal is.

Where in the 'burgh area you from?

Got preliminary estimate from insurance. 17k. Frame and suspension still haven't been evaluated yet. I'm a little worried. The adjusted told me the truck has a value of roughly 32k, I call BS. I paid 34k for it before trade and down payment. And it has 28,000 miles on it. KBB and NADA say 25-29k. I only owe 16k on it so I'd prefer a total. Am I the only person that thinks it's crazy a company would dump close to 20k into a truck that's truly worth around 27k?
