My new truck

2) I have the Husky Xact front and the rears that extend all the way under the rear seat to the back wall - really nice for when you have seats flipped up and can just throw whatever sandy/muddy/wet/dirty/etc. things back there that you don't want to put in the bed.

3) I got the Husky mats and 3M clear film put on the hood within the first couple weeks

^Have some pictures of all this and more info in build thread below in signature

Congrats Ron on the new truck!

1) I would recommend the Elite E2-X catch can. You can get the single or dual exit. There are others but from what I've read the E2-X is a great can. I went with the dual for peace of mind. Some say it's over kill but I'm one of those people that likes over kill when there is a chance it will help in the long run...especially for something like $15 more. Do a quick search and you'll see a lot on them

2) Floor mats: I haven't gotten any yet since mine came with stock one but been looking into them. Again do a quick search. Lot of people like Husky. I wish they made the ones I like in tan (I also have the cocoa dune interior). I'm also looking at Aries. Always had WeatherTech mats before but haven't read good stuff one them here.

3) Change your oil at 500, some people get clear bras or rockers before chips, enjoy the truck! I found that using 89 octane fuel I get better performance. I'm sure some others will have comments as well.

Nice truck - enjoy.

Buddy has Weathertech in tan in his GMC Sierra.

Definite need. I hosed my mats down when cleaning up this weekend.

I wouldn't worry about oil change at 500 miles. I went 5000 without issue. Just follow manufacturer guidelines.

Step bars are a nice mod. Look good and you would be surprised how nice it is to have the step to get in.

I too have the E2-X can, the single port version. Works good, and was easy to install. The lines are long enough to mount where the 2nd battery would go.

I also changed the oil at 500 miles. I hated to dump 8 quarts of oil that soon but am glad I did. It looked like brown metallic paint. I replaced it with 0W-20 Mobil One EP and an OEM AC oil filter.

Congratulations on your new truck. You will love it!

I thought for 2016 on upper trims (LTZ, High Country) there was no such thing as a max tow package?

Correct me if I am wrong but you can only get the 8 speed with the 3.42 gears (5.3 engine).. If there is a max tow package for the 2016, 5.3, 8 speed configurations does the package just include tow mirrors?

Thanks

Mine is a LTZ and I had to order the max tow. This is what I think you get with max tow.

A 9.76-inch rear axle with a choice of gear ratios

Heavy-duty rear springs

Revised shocks for improved control

Enhanced engine cooling

An integrated trailer brake controller

G80 locking rear differential

Trailer hitch with bumper-mounted trailer connectors (four-pin and seven-pin)

Trailer mirrors

I think the tranny cooler is bigger.
