2016 Android Auto Update

I read a post here a few months ago as well as other places online saying in march the android auto update will be available at dealers.....The apple carplay on my 16 dont help much being I have a S6.....Has anyone had it done yet ?

I just went to my dealer. They didn't even have a clue what android auto was. I had to talk to 3 different people before one knew what was up. He said they are waiting on the disc that has the update to show up. My local dealership sucks so i'm not sure if they are full of shit or what.

 

They did read me the email from gm saying that owners will be notified starting the 7th I think. I suggest you ask your dealer, they might already have gotten the update disk.

Just had the update done, I have a samsung G6. Took a couple hours. Works great. Its nice having GPS screen up (Google Maps)

If your dealer says they have no idea. Tell them to hook your truck up to GMs computer system. It will scan the whole truck over and load all updates available.

Did your '16 have AA from the factory? I thought all '16's did.

Not an AA update. If you have a 7" display, there is nothing to do. The 16's with the 8" display had no AA.

Did your '16 have AA from the factory? I thought all '16's did.

I got my 16 in November of 15.....AA wasn't out for the Sierra at that time

MY '16 did not have the AA update from the factory. I don't think any did.

The update is now available. Had mine done last week.

 

They didn't seem to be aware of it when I arrived, but they hunted up the info and got it installed.
