Hood deflector and mud flaps

Just curious what everyone is running on their new trucks? On my '09 I had the GM flaps and deflector installed and was quite happy with them both. My new truck should be here in a few weeks and I want to have everything in hand when I get it.

I'm a huge fan of the WeatherTech gear, especially since the mudflaps are "no-drill".

So yours haven't fallen off? After reading some of the threads on here, sounds like some are having problems with this.

I just have the factory mud flaps. As for the hood shield, I have a Stampede which at least for my '14 didn't require 2 sided tape or drilling. Since I see you live in Canada I wouldn't recommend long mud flaps (especially plastic ones) since they tend to bend and break when driving in a lot of snow and I can imagine it's the same way if you go off-road a lot.

I wish we got snow. Haven't seen the stuff in the city in 2 years. Good point on the long flaps off road. Thanks.

I run oversized DuraFlaps as I'm after effectiveness of deflecting stones while towing. I don't have a deflector since I have paint protection film aka "clear bra".

I run Gatorback mudflaps on mine and all my old fullsize trucks. You have to drill to mount, but I have never had a problem and they look great. As for the deflector, I went with the best one my dealership had. It is chrome and it wraps under the hood mounting to existing holes in the hood.

Did you go with the drill-less flap? I like the idea of the clear bra, though it seems pretty pricey. Thanks.

So far, no, they haven't, but I haven't had any snow while I've had them on either.

Just to clarify, the mud flaps that I've read where people have had a problem with are the plastic ones that don't give any. The rubber ones like rilcoat has shouldn't be a problem. Just most people seem to want to put the GM plastic ones and some have had problems with them bending or breaking. So if I were in the need of mudflaps I would get the rubber ones that move out of the way of snow or rocks or whatever.

Best hood deflector is the AVS aeroskin, no flapping noise. As far as mud flaps, I have a set of GM flaps but have been hesitant to put them on after hearing some bad things. I hate the look of mud flaps but I also hate rock chips in my paint so not sure what to do.

Do you have the 12x23 or the 12x26? Nice truck BTW; don't often see a regular cab.

I had oem mud flaps on my 07 and they worked great, at collecting and holding moisture between the flap and paint..... I had paint flaking and rusting on all 4 corners under flaps. Never again.

Those are the 12X23. Cost me $240 at the dealership. The deflector was free, I believe the part # was 19302745 worked it into the deal after price was agreed

It is not completely "drill less". On my Sierra, there is a hole in each of the rear liners that needs to be punched (I used a drill bit), it needs to be done so that one fastener can be attached to a pre-existing hole in the sheetmetal behind the liner.

Clear bra is never cheap, especially when it's custom-cut (not pre-cut on a plotter), but it's worth the price and the time for me. While the deflector covers only the leading edge of the hood, clear bra covers the bumper cap, headlights, fog/driving lights, leading surfaces of front fenders, and mirror caps (if painted). In my case, I have extended coverage like the door handle pockets (to prevent nail-induced scratches), a strip on the highest part of tailgate under the cap (the area where I use to close tailgate), and small patches of painted surface between taillights and rear bumper where I place my foot to climb in/out of the bed.
