MVI Video in Motion Add-on Module

No. If you open the link I've posted (twice), you will see this option is an add on module. No swap, no reprogram.

Ah, got it now. I didn't watch the video the first time.

When I ordered the CarPlay upgrade and video unlock, the new HMI module came with the video unlock programming (which is a different service than what you're looking at). I assumed that the link was pointing the the unlock programming service (which they also offer separately). The video clearly shows them installing a bypass module .

I can't speak to that module directly, but the customer service I've had from MVI has been excellent! Anthony is very good at answering specific questions both pre- and post- sale. He responds best to text messages, so hit him up. His cell is 919-995-9523 .

I've emailed them and have a very detailed response, just a couple more clarifications and I'm covered from a technical side.

Why I'm looking at the module is:

-Being in Canada adds another element to the shipping exchange. If the module is lost or delayed in shipping, I'm SOL until a replacement is available.

-The exchange option ends up being almost double the price by the time shipping is added in. Also as I work out of town, the 48 hour turnaround for me to install and ship back might not be doable adding another element to it.

That said, I am still leaning towards the exchange option at the moment. But being a brand new (less than 50 kms currently) 2016, I'm apprehensive of possibly putting in someone else's old unit and need some clarifications on possible warranty.

Want your stuff to work 100% correctly in an OEM fashion? Get the HMI Swap.

ESPECIALLY on 2016's as it can actually disable factory features on those models as well as any Carplay/Android Auto Retrofits.

We will work with you on the shipping time that shouldn't be problem at all. As far as the core swaps go it has yet to be an issue and we check each one of them as they come in and go back out (with the latest software), also really isnt a warranty issue as they aren't serialized. If it were to fail dealer would replace it and with a copy of the repair order you'd get your programming again!

I ordered a unit from MVI the other day and I cannot wait to get it and install it! I have a 2015 but I will gladly post pics and or video if you want me to.

I know there is a week to couple week delay due to demand right now, is the delay on the 2016's the same or longer?

Got my new smart phone module 2.0 in today. Install was pretty straight forward. Had a couple of questions and texted MVI for an immediate response to help me trouble shoot. The module is great. HD crystal clear image. Everything functions while vehicle in motion and maintains all the factory controls. Their new module will also allow you to add additional cameras to the truck and additional avi input. Overall I'm satisfied.
