Holy crap if a repin is all it takes...

His DRLs and blinker are a completely different LED board? Could that be the issue why 'ours' are funky as there would be two different 'colors' (I say colors for lack of a better description) operating at different times and power on the same board OR one of us poor souls needs to do a repin and see what happens.

Forgive me if this has been gone over before.

According to him he did not have to reflash. Even when I tested before sending my lights to gen5 I never got the hyperflash so not sure why exactly the resistors are in place. Posting our convo below:

The Silverados come with 2 incandescent turn signals on headlights and with the LEDs it triggers the hyperflash bulb-out warning. I took care of the hyperflash with 1 50w 3ohm on each headlight.

First I added an HID error canceller that converts pulsating current to normal, but Im sure Sierra SLT doesnt need it. Sencond I added a NC/NO Relay that reroutes the current from the low beam to the DRL and switches back to the low beam at night on auto or whenever I turn the lights on manually. But none of that applies to the SLT trucks becuase everything is already. The older SLT headlights basically have the same functions as the new ones.

Here is my repinned plug

Technically the SLT lights are different LED/boards also. It just appears they are the same as the yellow is inside with the white. I'm going to order a connector and repin and see what happens. Basically the GEN5 harness provides power to the LED from an external source as soon as the key is on thus the reason for not cutting off. Im curious as to what happens when you do away with the external power.

Ideally nothing should happen. You will regain control of the running lights IE they will turn off if you move your headlight switch to the off position where as I am sure they can't be turned off at all right now.

I'm sure you know they won't turn off with the turn signal as the 14-15 SLT running lights stay on all the time.

Correct they cant be turned off the way they are now. How do you know they wont go off with the turn signal? The user on page 8 in the silverado does and his is repined only, no harness.

I'm interested to see what you come up with.. if that repin works I'd love to get that harness out of there!

Same. I'd rather not have to use the harness.

Can you do a play by play of the repin and everything you do for us knuckle draggers?

I am talking for the Sierra SLT with 2015 headlights. From the factory the running light does not turn off when you throw on a turn signal.

Now if the newer 2016 headlights have a controller along with their driver then that would explain it. I haven't seen inside of the newer 16 headlights but I would be impressed if they had individual controllers.

Right. The silverado i'm referring to is a 14 or 15 with 16 front end swap. Guess the only way to know is to try right? Plugs have been ordered.

Yeah I'll take pictures once I see if it works or not. Even if the drl doesn't cut off with the turn signal I would still be happy with no harness.

Would the controller be on the outside like this or is it a heatsink?

I just saw the pictures of that Silverado. What plugs did you order?

I think it will work. I bet these have controllers inside...could be wrong but like you said we won't know till you hook it up.

I wish I had tested this before sending them off to gen5. I was so focused on the LED headlights working more than anything.

Alright guys I got my plugs this morning and repined only the drivers side so far. What I have found is the everything works like it should with the headlight switch however the DRL does not cut off when the truck is in gear and the turn signal is applied. Another thing is the headlight works fine until I start the truck then after a few secs it will flicker then cutoff. I haven't finished testing but this is what I have found so far. Any suggestions while I have it apart?
