Help me un-ugly my 2016

So.. I intentionally bought a new 2015 in Feb. Problem is.. it was a lemon.. and I got a repurchase.

I targeted a 2015 because 2016s that aren't Z71 are ugly ugly ugly! In my opinion.

so anyway.. now I have a bulldogface truck.. an LT with the toothy black grill, andI kinda hate walking out to it in a parking lot. I actually park so that it doesn't face me, cos I can barely stand it.

Help me un-ugly this thing!

I'm thinking color matching, but how can I do that without spending $5000 on something so small? The truck is Autumn Bronze Metallic. If it were summit white or onyx black I could vynil wrap it and be done, but.. can that be done with this color?

Can a body shop paint these chrome parts? Is that a bad idea??

What can I do here? Send me your ideas!

I really think a set of 20s would wake this beast up. Painting numbers that are chrome can be very expensive.

Here is some advice don't buy a truck if you don't love it.

You really only have 2 choices. Either color match the front end to match the rest of the truck. And by color match I mean EVERYTHING. Or go with a W/T front end if you want to keep it on the cheap. I think it's the bumper that's killing it. If that were color matched ONLY, it would be an 80% improvement over what you have now.

I didnt.. they repurchased the one I liked and I wound up with this one. I love the color, and love every angle except the front. I had negative equity and couldn't walk away without some pretty big issues. That's beside the point tho. I got the thing, now I gotta fix it.

I talked to a vynil shop just now, they said they could od the front but it'd be around $1000 for just the front end and it may not match exactly.

GM paintable grills are about $530, headlights are $600 each, dunno about front/rear bumpers..

The color match bumper really does change it. But I think tint the windows, level or lift it and put some nice rims and tires and she will be attractive. What does everyone pay to color match a bumper? ce463679b7ead8f66cc9a0bbca2f0a31.jpg

I like the 18s. I plan to keep them.

I have the wheel skins on em in chrome right now, but black looks really good in that pic!

I think what I hate the most is the toothy grill. It looks like it has a giant :D face and I detest it. I knew this going in and was going to get an LTZ grill, but I dont think I like that look either.

Even with just the bumper painted and grill chrome I actually like it. I honestly am not sure a monochromatic look would do it justice. You could always see what a painted bumper thru gm costs and throw the chrome one on CL to offset the cost and that way you have factory paint

I wonder how hard a gmc front end swap would be...

the HC looks better sure, but not from every angle.

I think its the way the grill goes so much lower than the headlight. We have the same headlight foot print as a 14/15 on these trucks, but the grill dips a good bit lower, or.. at least in a more obvious way.

Part of me even thinks just having a stripe of paint color across the top of the chrome bumper like a 14/15 might help. Something is just wrong. I think its the grill, I look at other grills, I still dont like it. The ONLY way I like this front end is all paint matched, and thats because its hiding some of the details.

Flares. Wheel spacers. Led fogs and headlights and led strips for DRLs.

What do y'all think?

God damn lost my post. So I agree with the others the bumpers need to match. If it is a price issue. There was a thread on this forum talking about how to strip chrome from an item. You can maybe find that and give it a try. Then have a local shop paint it with the matching paint.

I also agree that it definitely needs also tinted windows.
