Help Locking lugs no keys

Recommended Posts

Just got a 72 K5 and bought some new rims and tires for but two of the old rims have locking lugs with No key. Can't find any information on the design and head is to tight to fit compression socket over. No shop in my area is really willing to tackle. I've tried over sized flat tip to try and tork loose, and pounded a socket around center piece but only managed to round it off some. I'm at a loss so any info anyone might have would be appricated. Trying tlo avoid drilling out the stud.

Gonna have to drill/cut them suckers off and replace the lugs.

I usually weld a nut to the top of the lock and get it off that way. You can use anti-splatter to protect the rims.

the make smooth sockets that taper down. beat that on there they come right off. that's what we used at the dealership

Places like Harbor Freight sells a kit that fits over the locking lugnut using a hammer then you can use ratchet wrench to take them off.

They are like sockets but have sharp grooves that dig into the sides of lugnut allowing to back them off.
