:smash: I was thinking most of the time with my driving the rpms on my truck dont get past about 2200 to 2300 whether im accelerating or on the interstate. I was wondering how do you people drive....how often do you floor it...whether it is from a stand still or while you are moving. The owners manual even says that during break not to do full throttle starts like people do them all the time. I think that it is good for your truck to get on the interstate and clean it out am I right???? By the way 5.3 liter and 3.73 rear end.......

My truck runs in the 2-3K RPM all the time... I think that is the nature of the beast!!! 6.0L/4.10 gears and 6K lbs empty weight... :smash:

My Tahoe with a 5.3L and 3.73 gears gets floored daily. On the way to work in the mornings it gets driven between 80 and 85 mph on the highway for about 10 miles and then between 30 and 65 stop and go for another 10 miles. Total drive time is between 30 and 45 minutes depending on traffic. That gets reversed on the way home. Oh, and it gets floored several times along the way as I can't stand traffic and do my best to get out of the way! ;)

I try to give it enough go pedal to get it up over 3000 before shifting when getting on the freeway. I don't seem to have this concern when driving my vette.

The way these nondrivers are around here if you get anywhere you better be sticken that right foot out some times, and with my size 15 and 350lbs it gets stood on a lot. I have always liked rpms and the higher the better. In normal driving I am like alot of others, 2000 to 2500rpms that is about it. But when I need to go it will see 5000 to 5500!!! Keep it wound tight and don't worry about it coming apart.

Most of the daily driving is between 2000 and 3000 -esp. with wife and kids in the truck. When I'm alone........ the higher the better. Love to hear the Flowmaster rumble!! :smash:

Normally 2 to 3k on average running between 60 and 70 to and from work. About once a week or so when I run on I-40 I run it open on the onramp to get ahead of the 80+ mph traffic then I settle right in with them.

Whooops....Sorry..... With the title to this post....This isn't what I thought the topic was. :smash:

But while I'm in here...If there is open road in front of me. All I need is an excuse, and my foot is denting the firewall.

My 6.0 with 4.10 gears only gets the real test when I'm on a trip towing the travel trailer. Over the mountain passes there are lots of 4000 RPM grades.

I'm not a fuel saver so I drive with a heavy foot but I don't want the tickets either.

Speaking of traffic tickets...was on a road trip yesterday/today and got a ticket in a town that I always drive through but I never slow down in because I have never seen a cop there...meaning I never even turned off the cruise control. 75 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. This one hurts the most by far...$250 fine and I can't take defensive driving to keep it off my record b/c it is more that 25 mph over the limit. Needless to say it sucks to be me right now. This also goes to show how I drive... :smash:

I live along a buzy main road. Traffic wizzing by at 55 or better. When I pull out I always have to go WOT and let that baby shift at 5300 rpm to get moving quick before a cement truck or semi runs me over!

Same deal with my Caddy !

Beside NOTHING beats smooth, clean V-8 POWER ! :smash:
