Engine oil dip stick

Checked the oil for the 1st time today. Could they make the dip stick any shorter????? I don't think i've ever had a harder time reaching the dip stick in ANY vehicle than in these 5.3's.

Stand on one of the tires lol. I've done that with my stock height '14. I especially did it on my '98 that was just leveled. I found a plastic milk crate that I keep bungeed in the bed so I have something to stand or sit on lol. I'm only about 5'9" on a good day. One of the reasons I love my Ariat cowboy boots since they make me feel taller lol.

And maybe it's just me,but my 15 5.3 is a pain to get back in all the way.

Not to mention it's a joke to read with this.....What do they call it 0 weight oil? Hell I can't even see it! I gave up and after a couple thousand miles now on the clock I can read it.

Also, why is the dipstick all twisted - why isn't it just a straight piece of metal like previous versions were? I think that is why it is such a pain to put back in (that and the fact that you need a step stool to get to it...

Agreed! Really can't make it 6" longer without the twist? That would be to easy!

Heck, I'm just glad it has a dipstick. A lot of cars don't have a dipstick for the engine and/or the transmission anymore.
