2014-2016 gen better than previous Gen?

I have almost 12k on my 2015 and am still 100% happy. Personally, I would never purchase the fist year of a new generation of any vehicle, so no way would I have purchased a 2014 model. When everything is new, there is too many things that need the bugs worked out. A third year model of a new generation is probably the best way to go. Those buying the 2016 are on this boat.

Disagree 900>800

I wouldn't step back.

My dad's 2010 is much nicer than my 06 was. The only thing that's bad is the dash did crack in 2 places.

While it isn't exactly a GMT-800, I LOVED LOVED LOVED and MISS my Avalanche (Yes, I even loved the plastic armour it had). It was a GMT-805 I believe. I also had a GMT-800 Regular cab short bed pickup. Used my fathers GMT-800 Extended cab and his GMT-900 (Hybrid) both extensively. There are things I like and loved about all of them.

In general though, at least for me with the exception of wishing I could still get an Avalanche. I think my GMT- K2 overall is better. I like the way it looks better, the way it drives, the amenities (options I have). . The whole package, sometimes i feel like i bought a Cadillac but it has a chevy bowtie. I just enjoy it more overall and quite possibly it is due to the amenities the others didn't really have. The GMT-800 Regular cab I had was a WT model no frills, still a good truck though. The GMT-900 and the GMT-805 Avalanche were both fully loaded.

On the seats that someone mentioned earlier I felt the GMT-900 seats in my fathers truck were more comfortable than my Avalanche. But not better than the bench in my GMT-800 of course. I also felt like the seats in my K2 were not as good. Until I started adjusting them more and more. I had been riding with it at the lowest setting for months. I read somewhere on here others were having issues as well so I raised it up front and back just about a half inch. This made a huge difference at least for me and I feel that it is more comfortable than the GMT-900 now.

Can we get some sun visors though like the old Avalanche had. Those were great sun visors.

Not me. I liked them when I had them, but don't miss my '07,'12 or '13 Avalanches over the '16 Silverado and '15 Traverse. No more hefting those panels to convert to a two seat truck when I had a load...now, plenty of room for the load and Moe, Larry and Curly to tag along to help. Avalanche did ride nicer with a one piece body and rear coil springs, but the buckets weren't as comfortable as the 40-20-40 bench in the Silverado. But the best part of the Avalanche was the trade $36.5K for my low mileage '13 against a similarly equipped $39.5K '16 Silverado with new technology.

LOL! No matter how many times you try to post your way out of it, you know you screwed up cat. You gave up a black diamond for a zircon...the avalanche is the best truck chevy ever built...

You had a '13? and you got rid of it? Glad you like your new Silverado regardless. I would have loved to have the new Avy though. Mine was an '02. So, differences between them for sure. I didn't mind the panels so much my self. I am one of the minority I guess that also liked the Armour on the sides. I would absolutely buy a 2003 if I could find one in orange and North Face package in really good condition still. I would not however give up my 2015 LTZ though. I do love it.

I enjoy reminiscing about past trucks and how great they were! I've owned many GM and Ford pickups with my first being a 1969 F100. I believe all models have steadily improved and so have our expectations. I would love to have an older model for show but for reliability, comfort and enjoyment I prefer my 2015 GM!

If 14/15 had the technology of the 16,and the 16 front end was released in 14/15,and 14/15 front end released in 2016 what would you buy/prefer?

I like the 14/15 front end, that old block style is cool to me.Im happy with my 16 though, either way both nice but different styles.

2016 must have is painted bumpers, but a 14/15 looks good either way but I still like the painted bumpers better then the chrome ones on previous gen.

I could rock a 14/15 chrome bumpers without it nagging me to get them painted.IMO.

Oh my input on Avalanche,I had a 2004 non clad best pick up truck I ever had as far as the ride,it never rode like a pick up truck.I didn't do research on it but maybe it's between suv, pick up.towing not as good?

Dealership told me they are in high demand right now, trade in value has gone up!people are looking for them!3 weeks ago.
