Help me decide

So I've got a choice to make.

Currently I have a 2004 sierra 2500 HD 6.0. It has 96k on it and I'm the original owner. It has been a lemon since day one. The motor has a vibration and it broke several flexplates because of it. It now has a much bigger flexplate in it and has for 10k. I've put new brake lines, fuel lines, tranny lines on it. Only major thing to break on it now is the out of balance motor.

There is an 03 yukon 2500 for sale near me that is very clean. High miles though, 195k. My thought is to get rid of my truck and get the Yukon. I tow 7k regularly. In your opinion, should I keep my truck or get the Yukon? Also is 8,000 a fair price for the Yukon? Thanks

The 04 truck has a much improved 4L80E transmission

If the body is good, get that 6.0 out, rebuild or replace

8k is too much for a Yukon, its Not a pick up truck... , 2500 or not, its Not an HD does Not have the HD frame in the back ( to my knowledge)

Plenty of places sell reman Ls engines now

Good luck!!

Stupid question, but have you ever looked at whether the harmonic balance is bad or even the correct on for that engine? A slipped harmonic balancer will cause an engine to shake.

i really wouldnt want to trade to a truck with 100k more miles that pretty much has the same drivetrain, and clearly there is an unresolved issue if your truck is eating flexplates! since the yukon is relatively cheap maybe pick up the yukon as a project
