The only difference between the 12909 and the 14909 is one is a natural finish and the other is a polished finish, and of course $50. Probably order it next week.

Well, a little closer look, this should be pretty simple as there is a long extension pipe to the muffler, and a short piece out of the muffler. I can probably do this myself...

 

Has anyone had any issue with any of the computers or sensors welding on a exhaust or anything else?

As far as I know anything that is behind the cats shouldn't affect anything. If you remove the cats that's a different story

It's recommended to keep the ground clamp as close to the welding site as possible, so the current doesn't need to run through the truck ( and potentially through any of the trucks electrical/computer systems). You'll want to clamp onto the exhaust pipe itself.

I'm also in the middle of trying to decide what muffler to put on my truck. I was going for a direct fit if that's even possible. Preferably something that's not insanely loud all the time. I don't mind a little drone in the cab but nothing that would drive someone nuts. Any ideas?

I know I had no drone in my Cummins with the MagnaFlow. ..will know in a couple weeks if the 6.0l drones.

I think you guys will enjoy the magnaflow...it's very smooth and classic sounding. Doesn't sound like a young kids truck, sounds like a truck that demands respect

Is the magnaflow something that will just drop in to the stock pipe? Because of noticed that it's dual in and out but on the out side, the pipe on the passenger side is a bit higher up than the driver's side. Or will there be enough room to fix that with very little pipe? Keeping the stock exhuast is definitely key for me because I'm trying to do this without spending a fortune on it

I don't know that yet, I will likely need a short piece of pipe, a clamp to manufacture a support rod, and some welding...nothing but an axle back system is going to be plug and play.

Ok, measured the pipe...it's a true 3.5 inch OD, not some oddball size. So a extension, four clamps, and a muffler will do it...

Got the parts today...muffler is straight through and fairly big...almost a direct replacement, short it being a center/offset and the OE being offset/offset. Hopefully there is enough movement in the pipes to make the connection.
