The only thing that looks bad is the stacked clamps, and that was because I literally needed two inches of pipe. I had to cut and drop the tailpipe hangers to match the outlet of the new muffler...was going to see if there was enough movement, but it would have caused all sorts of grief. Now it matches right up, all the OE hangers are supporting their share of the load.

I wasn't too concerned about looks, fit and function are my thing.

The best part is it sounds good and absolutely zero drone at any speed windows up or down. It's only a little louder at idle, has a nice rumble at low cruise speeds...almost as quiet as stock in the cab with the windows up.

Good suggestion on the MagnaFlow, Thanks!

Glad you like the sound! Magnaflow is much better than flowmaster in my opinion

I agree with that.

If MagnaFlow made a offset in/out, this would have been nearly a direct replacement. Anyone looking for an easier drop-in should look for a offset in/out and not a center in/offset out.

Did you remove the Resonator. I just had a 22" magnaflow installed (deleted the flapper) and it is very quiet. It does have a little deeper tone at times but not much different than stock

On a 2500hd, there is no resonator...only cats, muffler, and 3.5" pipe.

Sorry...didn't know that. I'm assuming mine would have a lot better tone with my resonator removed. It is literally as quiet as stock...I think the resonator is constructed very similar to the magnaflow (straight through perforated pipe(not sure if there is any packing around it) and probably why some go the muffler delete and end up with a fairly nice sound. Biting the bullet today and swapping the 22" for an 18" and possibly deleting the res. I will probably be hating life tomorrow and anytime the wife rides with me from here on out.

Sorry again, I just noticed this is a thread for 2500 and 3500!!!

Don't get me wrong, mine (even with 3.5 inch pipe) is not that loud...it has a good rumble, but it's not loud. Smaller pipe will probably be even quieter...even my Wife commented that it's not much louder than stock.

Yeah my magnaflow with the 3.5 inch with the windows closed sounds like stock. You don't even notice it's aftermarket unless you get on it pretty hard. Even then it's not loud

Just got my 22" Magnaflows put on this afternoon. Not as loud as stock, has a nice smooth rumble and no drone inside cabin. Also added a nice 12" stainless steel round folded tip around the 4" exhaust.
