Hood Dent

So yesterday I was washing my '15 Sierra when i noticed a dime size dent on the top of the hood right about where the hood latches. Seems way to perfect to be a stone form the highway, no chipped paint either. Are these aluminum hoods really that easy to dent. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks

Did someone check your oil and slam the hood closed, maybe with a large ring....doesn't take too much effort just carelessness to dent a steel one either!

I was following a truck with some fresly cut trees on it the other day and a couple small pieces of wood fell off when it hit a bump. Didnt think much of it, but the next day after looking closer there was two dings on the hood, didnt even scuff the paint.

So yes, they do dent pretty easy, I didnt even hear the usual metal thud sound when you know you got a ding or chipped the paint. PDR guy wanted 100.00 to fix them since they are easily accessible from underneath but I dont see them when I'm driving so I'll just leave it for now.

Every part of the country is different. But in our town there is a guy that shows up on Fridays at a Honda/Chevrolet dealership & removes dents from their cars that have been traded in etc. He also schedules in one or two easy units for cash from various people. Removed 2-3 small dents for $45. Has worked on two friends cars too with no complaints. Just throwing it out there for anyone who may have a simple fix to maybe look or ask around some dealerships & save a few dollars.

They do the same thing here, for regular people its 50-75 a dent. I'm sure they charge the dealers less and there are cheaper guys around.. Some guys are better than others though.

I usually fix dings but I have a feeling its going to get a few more on the hood since I'll be going on a couple long highway trips soon, seems every trip I get a couple dings and a rock chip or two on the windshield.
