Im at my wits end with this truck!

I dont know what my options are here other than to just eat it. I have a 2014 Silverado, double cab 5.3 4x4 LT Z71. I bought new about 18 months ago. I have 25k on it now. It has been nothing but problems. It has been in for transmission issues countless times since week 2 with "could not duplicate problem" each time. Most recently I keep taking it in for a check engine light they cant fix, "rough idle on cold start". My radio they tell me they cant fix goes nuts, you cant control it, it flashes between screens like crazy, always goes to golf radio and you cant change it, calls people on random. I have to pull over and shut the truck off to reset it on my way home from work a couple days a week to avoid calling random people. My dealer will not help me. They damaged my wheel pretty good and left a big grease hand print on my pillar 2 weeks ago when in for service, and refuse to call me back to resolve that. I cant handle this thing anymore. I cant even trade it, I wont function properly long enough to trade it.

Do I have any options that will actually get me anywhere? Who can I contact that will help me?

Have you considered and exorcism for the radio? Seriously, assuming returning/trading in the truck isn't a option, find another dealer and consider getting a tune. I'm sure some of the members here live in your locale and can steer you in the right direction as far as a dealer is concerned. Also, you might want to forward some pictures and the name of the dealer that caused the damage to GM. Couldn't hurt.

I'd speak directly with GM for all that crap, especially the dealership that left the grease stained A-pillar. I wouldn't put up with that from a dealer ever - I'd be right in their service shop making the biggest scene in front of as many people as possible and asking them if they are sure they want their vehicle serviced there.

My '14 is going in for recall # 3 already and they have fixed other things while I have been in there as well. I've never owned a vehicle, and I've had over 30 of them in my possession, that has as many issues at my GMC Sierra.

In anyone's past experience, will GM try to make anything right?

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra that's been the worst nightmare of my life I decided screw it and I went and looked at brand new F-150 3 days ago and I will be trading it it's.

already did way less problems than these pos gm trucks. they lost me as a customer. ive owned 8 gm trucks , and this will be my last

I know what I would do ,as some have suggested contact GM direct , start with the district manager and work your way up

and go from there. The dealer I bought my truck had a really bad service dept. , they must of had a regime change cuz it has improved big time.

All auto co. make lemons , all I know is I've had 5 GM trucks and all were pretty darn good vehicles.

My current is a gem absolutely love.

its the ford vs chevy vs dodge fight. i can say is that the 3 f150 i took for test drives ran like a truck is supposed to have it was fun to drive. i took a 2016 gmc sierra 1500 for a test drive and it was just as aweful to drive as my 2014. i also took a 2016 gmc 2500 dirtymax and it had the same terrible shifting as my truck. thats the reason i didnt buy another gm truck. im not spending more money on a new truck with similar issues

Hope you realize that the trans is in learn mode so it's not going to act like it's supposed to. Mine would shift hard sometimes and act like it didn't know when to shift for the first 2,000 miles. Since then it's shifted and worked perfect and I just hit 26,000 miles yesterday. I myself haven't had a problem whatsoever with my truck for the 2 years and few months of having the truck. The only thing was really just the loose u-bolt nuts on the rear axle which caused clunking pretty much everybody had. Once I TQed them right it resolved the issue.

I have nothing against Ford and don't care what you spend your money on. But, I used to work at a dealer that was an authorized dealer for all domestics except GMC and Buick which another dealer has those. So it was very easy to compare the "Big 3" side by side any time you wanted. Well out of the Chevy, Ram and Ford the Ford seemed to be the worst of the 3. Also with Ford you pay more for less and have to get an upper trim level just to get features that you can easily get in a mid level trim in a GM or Ram. But, I did read that you're at least getting the 5.0 and not the Ecopoop because there's a lot of people not liking the Ecoboost rather it's actual performance or MPGs or just not lasting. I might be a GM guy and have always had Chevy full size trucks, but I would consider a Ram Cummins if I needed a truck primarily for towing. I wouldn't consider a Ford for any reason. Maybe the Raptor, but the towing and hauling capacities are low for being a modern full size. Which I can understand though since it's made more for off-road. But, you also can easily convert any truck no matter what make into a true pre-runner.

this will be my first ford but ive always been gm and until 2014 when i bought a gmc sierra 1500 and i bought the wife a loaded 2014 chevy cruze, i have changed my tune. both vehicles have been i nightmare and shortly after i get my f150 we are considering trading in the cruze as well. if you were in my shoes you would probably have the same opinion as me. i would have bought the tundra but its not the best fit for me or i would have. double cab is too small in the back after having a crewcab and the crewmax is useless with a 5 1/2ft box

If I was in your shoes I probably would trade in the truck for a '16 too be honest. I never had an issue with my first one which was an '86 C10. Then I got a '98 and the problems I had was self inflicted by how I treated it. More should have actually went wrong with it. Now my '14 which is my first first one that I bought brand new and haven't had 1 issue and most people will say the same. I understand you being frustrated and honestly I can't know how you feel of having a new truck that gave problems. But, I just wouldn't give up on GM I guess you could say and wouldn't really blame GM 100% because of all of the out sourcing with any automaker. Again I'm not going to try to talk you out of the Ford because it's not my money. Just making the point that no company or product is perfect, especially a product with so many parts from so many companies.

things ive had wrong with my 2014 gmc sierra up to 43500km on it

1.rear spring bolts missing both sides from factory

2. r/s also had 1 cross threaded and not tight

3. fasteners missing from the front bumper and trim(from factory)

4. 11 recalls my truck has had

5. new starter

6. new radiator

7. ac lost its refrigerant, line rubbed thru

8. steering wheel clicking

9. vibration at 60-100km/hr

10. harmonic balancer damaged at the factory(20000km) before it was fixed

11. engine burns 3 liters every 3000km

12. frame rusting after only a few weeks of owning it

13. leaking roof

14. bluetooth and voice command issues since day 1

15. shifts all over the place

16. tranny downshifted 1st or 2nd on the highway and almost lost control

17. pressed the throttle and nothing happened for 5 seconds then all of a sudden redlined

18. tranny flare from first to 2nd. almost always does this

I counted the dealer invoices, my truck has been to the dealer over 50 times in 2 years. enough is enough. all i always get for an excuse is, thats normal or we couldnt duplicate the problem. many times i took the shop foreman out and he witnessed the issue and i still got cant duplicate problem
