concrete sealer

I have a 20 year old concrete garage floor I want to seal. It is still in good shape. I dont think it was ever sealed but not forsure on that. I want to do a clear sealer to give it that glossy look, protect it and make it easy to clean. Any diy products anyone can reccommend?

For high quality products, I've gone to a local concrete place or industrial supply store. I don't recall off-hand what I used the last time, but I've used sealers from Euclid Chemical before with good results. They're somewhat local to me in Northern Ohio.

Just noticed this topic. Like 99Silverado said definitely go to a reputable concrete place or industrial supplier. Their products will work far better and last far longer. That's what I did when I put in my interlocking brick driveway and patio.

Also stay away from the gloss finishes because in my experience they're quite slippery when they get wet..

Also, I used to roll them on, but the last time, I used a sprayer to cover an area, then rolled what I had sprayed instead of rolling out of a tray. This was just as effective and saved product.

I've always been curious to try that but I have no idea how to use one of the sprayers for that.. I've heard that if you aren't really careful and don't have a perfect day (no wind) then you get overspray everywhere.. So I just stick to the roller...

I just used a regular plastic garden sprayer from Lowe's.

Please be very very careful with the sealers. They can be VERY icy and slippery when wet or snowed/cold.

Most standard garden sprayers have a hard time spraying stains / sealers since there are solids in the product. If you go the sprayer route be sure to buy one that is meant for spraying such products. Most of the time you can swap out the orifice on the better sprayers so you can obtain the correct flow and spray pattern you require.

Diamond K sealer is the only clear concrete sealer I use. I bought at the local concrete mixing plant $60 for a 5 gal bucket and I roll it on with a short nap roller.
