Hi all, originally didn't want to spend over 1200 even though I really wanted the corsa sport cat back. Saw it on sale at autoanything for 1165 but then I saw it on THMotorsports for 1099 plus a 3% promo code and a $75 rebate for a total of 1000 in case anyone is looking, I thought it was a pretty good price. (Btw this is for CC SB 6.2L - I think it's cheaper for the 5.3)

I bought it. Couldn't help it. I just love the Corsa sound so much! It actually came several days early and arrived this morning! Almost 20 years ago I bought a new 97 Z28 and a couple years later my uncle gave me a free Corsa catback for it off of a smashed camaro....oh man it sounded awesome and to this day I've always loved the sound.

I wish there was a place I could buy just the muffler.

I didn't realize the mufflers couldn't be bought separately. I can't hack into my stock exhaust anyways because it's a lease and if I don't buy out, I'll have to put the stock back on anyways. I thought about buying all the pieces separately and putting something together myself but ended up just buying this for ease. I figure I can use it on my next truck or at least the muffler/tips.

I'm actually thinking about getting another stock exhaust, and putting a borla s-type in place of the stock muffler. That way I can have a touring style loudness, and if it's not loud enough I'll remove the resonator. Due to my lifetime powertrain warranty I'll need a complete stock exhaust on hand in case something were to happen.

That's a great idea! Do you (or anyone on here) know roughly what a stock cat back runs? Don't for get the Borla s-type is their middle loudness muffler, the touring is the quietest....I currently I have a touring one on my camaro with the LT1 in it and it sounds good....not quite loud enough for me, I would probably prefer the s-type.

I have factory 6.2 cat back exhaust system off of my 2016 GMC Sierra CC SB Denali big fat Chrome tip and all. Truck had about 2500 miles when it was removed. I had the dealership install the GM Borla exhaust about a week ago. I just put it on my local craigs list at 200 bones no hits yet. Not sure how it could be shipped since it is over 10ft long and odd shaped. Come and get it is you are close by Nashville Tennessee? I need to free my trailer back up LOL Pics below. PM me if interested. To order a stock system is about 1200 bucks at your dealer plus the Chrome tip is over 100!!!!

Thanks....I'm not looking anymore, was just curious more than anything. I already bought the Corsa. Wouldn't be worth it to buy new, but for 200, I wish I would've known that a few days ago. I'm in Buffalo area anyways.

New they can be had for just under $500 shipped.

      Howdy! New to the forum of course! My name is Casey, just picked up a 2024 high country midnight edition. First “new” truck in 24 years for me. Driving a 1998 Z71 since 2002. Have been on the GMT400 forum with lots of good info and help there. Nervous about driving these newer trucks and all their electronics…. Did a lot of work on the Z71 myself over the years. New truck is definitely a nice upgrade after 24 years. Photo of the old and new, still keeping the Z71 - has 320,000 miles on her and still running well!

      We did 250 on our tractors until we switched to Amsoil. We doubled after that.

      When I was there, most to all did not have an hour meter. They just did 5000 miles on regular vehicles and 3000 on police stuff. The modern oil change monitors should take into account engine hours, weather, etc. I don`t use the monitor on my stuff. I pull the stick, look at it, smell it, rub it between my fingers, etc. That`s my oci.   I have had many engines. Some bracket race. No problems doing things my way. I was in the mechanic business for 30 yrs or so. I still do things the old school way. Don`t care who laughs at me.   Understand, I was in the main shop. We didn`t do oil changes or tires. We had a service station for that. I don`t remember the hours they used for tractors, lawn mowers, etc. Something in my head says 250 hours.

      I don't know how far back vehicles had hour meters, be it driver accessible or diag accessible but was wondering if there was any rule of thumb your shop came up with in regards to an hour limit on engine oil regardless of the miles on the oil.    I know with construction or farm equipment its almost always based on engine hours for maintenance scheduling as no other metric really applies other than a seasonal time limit that one self imposes on items like engine oil.

      I'm not sure what to say on that mess but I will say that is an odd thing for that mechanic to speculate on as per assuming its been run out of oil a few times as the odds of that engine having instead piled up with a complete seizure would be very high if such events had actually taken place. However there is nothing saying that the oil has ever been changed although once again, what filter was on that engine as that would tell part of the story if its possible to figure out if its a factory installed filter or not. Too many items unknown and a lot of speculation, but regardless of that its one fubared mess that is mind boggling to see for a vehicle that new and its hard to imagine how it ever made it that far in life looking at the top of the engine.    His scanners, I've watched him before here and there and I'd have to say if I recall correctly that some of his scanning equipment is one or two steps up from a child's Exo Sketch 😋
