Joined to help my father

First I want to say hello. I am on here for my technologically challenged father. We run old GMC straight trucks on our farm and last week our ~1976 GMC 6000 grain truck emergency brake broke off, it scared our driver as it flew up and hit the gas line, knocking it off and denting the floor of the cab. We took it to our local shop and they said the style of the brake is obsolete and no longer made, I believe they referred to it as a fly wheel style emergency brake.

I am not sure where on this forum to post this as I do not see a category it would match. We are in need of the part, but like I said they are obsolete so it will need to come off an older truck. Can anyone give me directions of places to look online that might be able to locate the part I need?

Read your post. I decided to apply my research skills to it just for fun.

I don't know anything about them but their webpage seems to explain itself well and they do have a contact number.

The "Salvage Yard" link on the top of the page has some 1970's Chevy and GMC trucks you might find useful. I just sorted it from oldest to youngest and they came out on the 3rd or 4th page I think.
