Osram. Exclamation. Period.

But if your housing isn't made for hid, they will all be about the same.. better than oem halogen but not as good as oem hid.

FIrst you need to pick out your favorite headlight assembly or buy some LTZ headlights. After that there are numberous threads that will give you the top choices, there are a few out there.

There's an exhaustive post to read, that I have read through twice, that will give you ALL of the information you need to know. Osram and Philips are good, but as far as kits go- Morimito is very popular. Good luck to you, I'm going to get rid of my 2015 LTZ because I hate the headlights so bad, and I don't want to go through what the HID post says to do. (Replace projectors, wire in HID relays to battery, drill holes in dust caps to pass wires through, mount ballasts and anti flicker, trouble shoot, have more issues, cuss, email people here for help, get super pissed because moisture is now getting into housing due to holes in dust caps & higher heat level, blah blah blah)

I went with Xenon Depot LEDs, they look much better than halogen and they fit behind the factory dust caps). But it still isn't good. All I wanted was lighting as good as my 10 year old 2007 Escalade or 2006 Range Rover Sport Factory HID systems.

I'd recommend the OEM 2016 LTZ headlights then. Brightest LED lighting I've seen yet.

And I've seen that these are able to be installed on 14-15 Silverados with a correct harness from Gen5DIY.

I tested my Philips bulbs against a 2016 Denali and was easily as good if not better light output. Mind you I do run a precision projector that is better than OEM. This is not definitive by any means only based on mine and the other guys perception, not like we pulled out light meters or anything. I tried asking GM who makes their LED chips and the answer was and I quote 'That information is not available to the public at this time'. So if they are not saying there is no way in heck they are using the best around (Philips) considering the other bulbs are made in Hungary (Volsa) it is safe to say they went with the lowest bidder. Would love to see one cracked open and the led chips exposed to find out.

Besides it costs about $1500 USD + the wiring harness + install at that rate you may as well just trade for a 2016 =D

Not without changing the entire front end. The 16/17 Silverados have different hood/grill/trim/bumper filler than the 14/15's and the headlight housings don't line up without changing all the additional parts. You also may need to have your BCM reflashed (some have needed it, some have not).

This and Gen5diy does not list a plug and play for the 2016 headlights, only the tail lights. They only have DRL mod harness's listed on the site. maybe they have not added them to the site yet?

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
