Anyone Have The New GM Illuminated Bowties?

The girl friend wanted me to make a little video of the install yesterday. https://youtu.be/mBg0lhYKRNw

Nicely done! My wife wanted NOTHING to do with any of the mods I do on the truck. She does like to drive it though! [emoji23]. I found less accessibility to remove the lamp connector on 2016. You seem to have a lot of room behind the headlamp!

Here's some pics after my install. I decided to Vinyl match the bowtie, but found out it's tough to match Iridescent Pearl Tricoat with vinyl (just a little off currently). I bought a paint match kit online for $60 yesterday and hoping it gets the job done. If not, I'm just flushing money away :dunno: my truck accessories place said it runs ~$200 for them to do it that color like dealerships have them. Here's to trying to take short cuts...

I used white carbon fiber wrap to "match" the pearl. It is not exact, but looks pretty good.

If you already have black bow ties, keep in mind the illuminated set comes with a rear black bow tie as well. I ended up selling my black front and the new black rear bow tie for like $70 here. That helped me with the offset and "justification"... LOL

I paid $250 on the ebay and the offset made it $180.

not bad.. mine are plasti dipped but wouldn't mind switching out to nice painted factory black for the back.

Hi all, I'm new here. Signed up to thank everyone that posted a diy on how to install the emblem. Now, to look where I can find it in Canada. Dealership is charging an arm and a leg for it.

I love it, it's expensive but it makes my truck that much more different from all the others on the road, would buy again.

^^^

I forgot to take a pic with headlights and fogs on (all lights on) but you get the idea, it's pretty much awesome!!!

Side note for those interested, I posted those pics because I wasn't aware at first that the bowtie illuminates when just the running lights come on; very cool. I thought the headlights had to be on, but as you can see, it comes on with just the running lights on, and looks really nice with the running lights and fogs on. Very happy with it.

Left is always the driver's side

How are you guys liking them? Any loss of brightness? Also how long do you think they can last considering the quality? I'm asking because i love the look and want to justify forking over $200 plus.

Considering we never get to see them unless we lock/unlock with FOB at night... There is no loss in brightness as they tap the park lamp signal. They are not super bright like depicted in the pictures as they are an accent item. They look nice. I do get head turners/double takers for sure.
