Radar detectors?

I have a Valentine One that I bought back in the '90's. They offer system upgrades as needed, but honestly it isn't that often that you need to upgrade the software. They are well worth the cost, or I wouldn't have stayed with the same one all these years.

I have a Valentine 1 in every vehicle I own. Its like American Express, don't leave home without it. The oldest one is about 10 years old, the newest is a little over a year old.

This link has the pictures of my install on post 11. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/188633-hardwire-radar-detector-in-2016-sierra/

Who's got them and what brand are you running?

Escort 8500, been working great for me all these years later. I have it wired into the truck for ignition on off.

These were very popular in the 80's. I didn't know they were still around. I had one for several years for the entertainment value!. I wonder if they can now detect a radar gun before it detects you?

I was at bestbuy last night and picked up the Escort 9500ix $200 off iv never had one before so I figured I'll try it out also I have a planned road trip after Christmas Orange County Ca to San Antonio Tx. I couldn't wait to try it out so hooked it up in the parking lot and it saved me on the way home. Is the 9500ix a good model? I was trying to compair to the Max 360 and justify spending twice the amount but couldn't do it for a slightly further distance and directional arrows that have a reported lag time.

Is it the add-a-fuse?

Yes, a micro2.

How did you run the wiring and where do you normally mount your RD? Do you have any pictures?

Under the rear view mirror. I bought a rear view mirror mount off of Amazon for $20, the Escort wiring kit for about $25, and $10 for the add a fuse.
