Radar detectors?

Just curious why you didnt mount the smart cord comtroller in the little pocket below?

I didn't want to drill any holes in the dash (yet) and I wanted to set it on something solid. Not the removable rubber tray in that pocket.

Are there any hidden ones? Don't really like the exposed wires

You could always buy a battery operated one. Hanging it off the rearview though, you're not going to see that wire if you use the smartcord.

I had them during the double nickel days, I'm perfectly happy going 70-75 MPH. I guess I'm getting old.

V1, love the arrows, BUT, with all the infrared devices around town its pretty useless with all the false positives, but great away from town and on the open highway.

I had one a long time ago...caused more stress than it was worth (false positives). I've slowed down a lot since then...

How do you guys like the 9500? I'm still getting use to mine auto storing all the grocery stores near my house

I just upgraded from a 9500ix to the max360.

I got a ticket using my 9500, so that was what prompted the change. It was at least 6 years old and was due for an update.

If you're willing to spend the money, it's the best of both worlds. You have the gps lockout of the ix and the arrows from the v1. I love mine.

I have a couple bits of advise. First, if you live in a metro area where many cars have blind spot monitoring, you may want a newer detector. The 9500ix false filtering was developed in a time when this wasn't a prevalent technology. You'll get more and more false alerts as time goes on. If you live out in the sticks, this probably won't matter as much. The reason the 9500ix is being cleared out is the new IX. It probably won't look like too much more on paper, but it'll filter out more of the crap.

Second, all radar detectors have a big weakness. Laser. I've had a detector save me from laser in the past, but as I just said in the beginning, I just got a ticket, too. Certain detectors do better with laser than others. Even with radar it's getting harder with instant-on technology becoming more widespread. If you're going to exceed the speed limit, obviously, use your head.

Lastly, don't buy a smart cord. The cords that interface with your phone are a joke. When I bought mine, they were something like $100. All they were was a Bluetooth cord for service that is way too expensive. Waze is much better. Save your money.

All of this said, I loved my 9500. It locked out all of the stuff around town, which saved my sanity. It had a lot of features, and now with the way they're priced, you can't go wrong.

As far as Lazar goes, there is a jammer out there for it. I will have to look it up and report back. It works every time, no matter the vehicle. I seen it on Radar Roy's site years ago, a buddy of mine went out and got two sets. Never a issue for laser since. They mount front and back of vehicle, your choice where. Also, the RR site has a lot of info on there, with video to go along with it.

I've got an Escort Passport. The one with Bluetooth (looks just like the X70 only it has built in bt). Had the X50 for a long time before I needed to replace it. I like it. I have the sticky cup mount and cigarette lighter cord. It's saved me several times. Next time I may go for a higher end model.

Bel RX65

Glass mount from Amazon

Hard wired to lighted switch mounted on lights/trailer brake panel

Very well hidden...people don't even know it's there until they hear it beep. I only use it on road trips these days, but it's good peace of mind!
