Insurance on a 2015 GMC DC 4x4 5.3

Has anyone else's rates went up recently? I talked with my agent and he stated that a discount I was previously getting for safety of my vehicle went away. Seems lots of people are making claims on their trucks and it has drove up the rates. Also, before anyone says my agent is lying to me, he is my brother by blood haha. I live in STL so I know that doesn't help me, but it seems like the rates are still way higher than they should be. I am with State Farm as well if that matters.

Just got a letter in the mail saying my premium went up as well but not sure what it's related too.

He is lying to you, my rate on a 2016 crew cab 4x4 is around $85 a month for 100k/300k/100k coverage with a $250 ded.

Nothing for me (yet) with USAA in NY. But then I don't think insurance can get much higher than NY already is.

Are you serious haha? NY is by far the cheapest state I've ever had to insure a vehicle. Right at $100 a month. It was $120 in SC and $250 in Florida. Florida has one of the worst DUI/DWI rates in the country, and I heard NY subsidizes insurance rates. I'm also with USAA.

$650.00 a year. $250,000/$500,00/$250,00. Full coverage except for rental. (I have a spare truck) $250.00 Ded. A little less than $55.00 per month. State Farm.

My rate did go up $120.00 a year when I traded my 2005 for the 2016.

Where in NY? I'm on Long Island so maybe that's why. But I moved here from Florida and my insurance doubled.

i know this is for the states mostly based on the opinions, but im a broker in Ontario Canada and my rates went down on both vehicles this year.
my bike went down by $100 a year and my truck went down about 200.

our rates suck though..my truck is about $1600 per year, luckily my bike is only $550.

Insurance rates are determined by many factors from age, vehicle, city/town, other lines of business, insurance/credit score, so what may be the case for 1 person is not always the case for another. I am in insurance and I have never heard of what you are being told. Brother or no brother, shop around and see if you are still getting a good deal.

Haven't seen a rate change for me in Iowa. Yeah, rates involve a lot of factors that were mentioned. It can vary within a state as well. And Iowa probably one of the lowest rates in the country. I insure both my 2015 2500 and my 2006 Caddy CTS for about $450 every 6 months. And that is only because of a lien still on the 2500. Else it would be cheaper yet. One of the advantages of living rural in a state where most of us are not trying win a title for the demolition derby. Nice thing about the Caddy, it now qualifies for the lowest license plate renewal in the state... $50 a year.. since it is now 10 years old. And only 59,000 miles on it and in immaculate shape.
