Running rough with a surge

Guys, I have a 1995 chevy k-1500 with a 5.7. when you start it, it seems to run fine. After it warms up it idles fine but runs rough and surges. Has a new battery and alt charges fine, but turn headlights on and amp gauge dropsand the more you turn on the more it drops down to about 11- 12 amps. Runs 14 normally.

On my 99 i had some surging while idling and it ended up being a vacuum leak. I don't think that would explain low voltage though.

If you have an automotive stethoscope run that around the hoses, concentrating around the hose connections and you might find alot of air noise at one of them. I used a little putty to verify and the surging immediately went away.

Almost all Auto parts stores will be happy to test your Battery and Alternator for FREE.

I would do that first and fix that issue then tackle the surging issue.

check your BATT / Alternator also check your fuel filter , run some seafoam in gas tank
