Odd Question: How do you clean out the space between the grill and ra

So, that's it! As the picture below shows, I've got bugs and leaves stuck in that space and I can't figure out how to get it cleared out. Anyone have any tricks or ideas? Am I missing something obvious here? Much appreciated!

The way I've accessed in the past is by taking off the grill.

Not the most fun task lol.

First you take off the cover that covers the grill and radiator. It's about a dozen of those plastic pop screws that can be remover by a flat head screwdriver.

Then you take off the trim piece below the grill. I believe the trim piece is (4) metric screws and then just plastic tabs.

Next to take off the grill, it's (8) metric screws and it will pop off. Viola, full access.

P.S. it gets easier with practice.... lol.

And those plastic pop rivets get looser and looser every time you fool with them?

Can you make compressed air work?

Mine haven't gotten any more loose. In the event that the did, or that you lost one, they sell them in the hardware sections of Lowe's and Home Depot.

Compressed air is a pretty good idea. Don't forget safety glasses in that case!! Lol

When I bought my truck I didn't notice that a bird's nest ended up in there for sitting on the lot. I couldn't use a shop vac because the end of the hose couldn't fit in the grille slot. Dealer ended up removing it for free.

Shop vac works for me but may be different for a Sierra. If the spaces in the grill are too small for the vac I would attach narrower flexible tubing to the hose of my vacuum.

Shoot, if we can color outside the lines, there are a number of things that might work. Drop some Black Cats down there - maybe a string - and see if you can explode the debris out!

A friend named Russell C. back when I was a kid, put an M80 in his toilet and flushed. It cracked the entire bowl. I bet that would work on acorns and butterfly wings!

Funny topic. I drive a lot of on the hwy, so I was accumulating a lot of debris behind the grille and starting to see damage to the coils from pebbles and such. Really no way to get in there also from the top. I used a 3' piece of 5/8" or 3/4" heater hose duct taped to my shop vac. Vacuumed it out and installed a Fia screen cover. 40k miles later, still clean and coil damage has stopped. I ran one of these fia screens on my F250 years ago and loved it back then. My mistake was not installing it the day I bought the truck new.

This is simple actually - just had the same problem with Monarchs during hunting season.

Pop the hood open, take the plastic cover off the top covering the grilles (2) bolts. Then remove the 2 bolts on top and pop the grille off with some pull.

I cleaned mine by hand (Don't use a pressure washer). Or even use a damp rag, took 2 minutes.
