I am having trouble finding any specific information about what caps might fit my truck. I have a 1989 1500 with an 8ft bed. I know chevy/gmc caps from 88-98 will fit but has anyone had luck using a cap from another make and model? Or newer Chevy/gmc trucks?

 

It would be nice to broaden my search parameters. It doesn't have to be a perfect factory fit obviously, I'm not sure anything would look factory on my old girl anyway.

My 1990 GMC Sierra SLE (C1500) came new from the dealer with an A.R.E. cap, installed by Mastercraft Truck Caps in Leominster MA. Dealer applied matching paint scheme. My A.R.E. cap is the TW Series. Check out "4are.com" for cap information.

Snugtop, leer, or a.r.e should all offer a cap / topper / shell, etc. may have to call since you have an older truck. Any cap from a fleet side 8ft 88 - 98 will fit. Craigslist!

 

I.m guessing you have the 8ft bed from your pic not the 6.5 / 6.6 short / standard bed.
