Changing stock D5S bulb

Recommended Posts

Very happy with the bulb output, could tell instantly when they came on! I did go with the 6500k as this is worst case for the output actually. 200 lumens less rating to 5500k

More importantly is this...

OEM measured 295 Lux @ 25 feet

Morimoto 35W 6500k measured 520 Lux @ 25 feet

I will get some pictures posted up at some stage soon.

You installed these on a 2016-2017 Silverado w/ HID's stock?

So technically they're almost 75% brighter than stock????? Wow, let us know your driving impressions at night.

I will be leaving Michigan at 3am over the weekend so will get some exposure then. Quick check last night after install made a good impression.

That's crazy. $350 for a pair of bulbs!

Agreed but these 25W HIDs aren't very bright.

Anyone know what these Philips put out compared to stock? Both look to be 25W.

Edit: Found it - 2k lumen. What do stock bulbs put out?

The stock D5S is a Philips 25w.

Not the best pictures by anymeans, the SLR wouldn't turn on and the wife was long gone to bed (not my camera to mess with).. So I used my iphone which do no justice for these.

This is the OEM Only

Both Morimoto now

Keep in mind this is also an OEM Kelvin compared to a 6500k which should yield lower output, but being 35w it still blows the 25w away!

Working my way up my 50 posts... slowly but surely as I would love to offer these up to the community at a much better price than retail! I believe everyone should have the best lights...

Thank you for the Pics and feedback!!

Anytime! I need to double check alignment and then get some on the road pics! Towing the camper they were high, don't want to blind anyone with these things...

Also I will get some high beam photo's. Just wish they would of came with 35w from the factory, so silly.
