Traded in the Silverado

How is this relevant to my thread?

It's not, people are just on their high horses looking down on you and need to voice it.

My brain still hurts reading the post, three above.

@OP why not the Colorado? Just done with Chevy?

Re-read your first post, if you didn't drive so fast your truck wouldn't shake and you would still be the proud owner of a full size Chevy. These aren't race cars they're trucks.

Very possible this is the most ridiculous post i have ever seen. 75 mph even 85 mph is not unreasonable at all. There are legal speed limits set that high. Besides the idea of not speeding the truck is engineered and built to be smooth at any speed it is capable of running. He traded the truck for very understandable reasons. Don't try to give him a hard time for doing something you and only you think is wrong.

Well guys I gave up on the fight to try and fix the problems I had with the truck. Traded it in for a Nissan Frontier 4x4. Got a good deal on it and was given a lot for my truck.

List of problems with the Silverado:

-Shaking and jumping at highway speeds

-Vibration under both seats and center console at 75-82 mph

-Climate control issues

-Squeaking exhaust

-Gear noise at 80mph

Loved the truck but the issues were driving me nuts and I just don't have the time to keep taking it to the dealership.

Wanted to thank everyone who helped me out with questions. These forums are great.

It surprises me that you were happy with your Silverado but didn't get it repaired. I understand the truck being too big and awkward but there is no reason for a 2016 vehicle (under warranty) to be in a state of disrepair. My wife regularly complains about the size of my truck but I love driving a full sized pickup. Mine doesn't squeak, vibrate or have any other issues and it shouldn't! Good luck with your new truck!

Thank you. I forgot to mention in my original post, that I did indeed make 4-5 trips to the dealership and got nowhere. Got the runaround, and that's trying 3 different dealerships. All I got from them were road force balance on two tires. Useless. I spent money on getting the driveshaft balanced, which was off from the factory. It helped but still had vibration.

Here's a video I took a while back

Also forgot to add to my list, that I had constant steering wheel vibration also.

The speed limit on the I-15 going to Cali from Vegas is 70 mph. So you're really saying you've never gone 5 mph over the speed limit?

The sheer level of STUPID in your post is baffling.

It's actually 75 mph through much of the southern states on i95 , speed limits or not these trucks should not shake apart at higher speeds.

WoW. If DOT posted maximum speeds of a 100MPH you'd try and drive 105, the posting is the maximum speed under perfect condition doesn't mean you have to drive that fast. In 40 years you'll come back here to apologize but I'll be dead. Spent part of my life scrapping the leftovers from speeders and drunks from the pavement. If you would have seen what I've seen.... A moose at 50mph versus a Moose at 75mph is the difference between life and death. I know speed doesn't kill but sudden stops are a duzzer.

By the way that video clearly demonstrates a bad tire, balanced but out of round. Dealer should have put those on the roller analyser where they would have detected broken belts in one of the front tires.

Maybe all the shaking in the newer trucks is just cheap tires from whom ever won the tire tender.

I have seen what you've seen. Was a cop for 8 years. I've seen planes crash, but guess what? I still fly.

Then you of all people should understand where I'm coming from. I don't disapprove of you getting a Nissan Frontier, I actually think that right now they are the best on the market bar none. I'm also 5' 5'' sawed off and given the choice I would rather be driving a Frontier than my Silverado, but this truck was what was available at the time. It shook when I boought it with those cheap Continental tires so I threw on 4 new Michelins. If I came across as rude or uncompassionate I'm sorry it wasn't my intention, impulsive buying after a frustrating experience is costly and I just think you should have worked it out. Now understand that this is just my opinion and I'm happy it generated so much dialogue even if some was a bit rash towards me. Some people on here should pick-up a human arm on the shoulder and bag it then tell me I'm stupid.

Yep same here. Been there done that. Not an excuse for blaming his vehicle issues in your issues. Also i believe he said they checked the tires. Chevy shake is very real and unless you have experienced it first hand you really have no idea.

I agree that we could all use a dose of slowing down but to blame safe and legal speed on his vehicle issues is a reach.

My truck shook like a butter churn when I bought it. Didn't try to take the dealer down for the cheap bad tires GM put on it at the plant. And I wasn't blaming him, was just trying to put across his decision may have been premature, maybe his decision was already made for all I know. Thank you for replying as much as you did, just hope it was constructive and not destructive towards the sense of this thread.

No worries.
