Anyone upgrade the coils on there mighty 5.3 or 6.2?

That's the biggest total waste of money for sure....stay on the toilet and come up with something better than that!

a dyno run can show anything. maybe the old coils were on their way out so new ones show a gain on the dyno? either way Robert is correct, aftermarket coils are a waste of money. but if you insist on buying them, you might as well buy a high performance MAF too.

There will be no measurable benefit with aftermarket coils or wires. These ignition systems are so efficient that unless you have a motor which requires a significantly hotter, borderline dangerous spark, it's a waste of money. Spend the money on a custom tune, or headers, or a camshaft. Hell, even a blower if you really want power.

Waste of money. You won't gain anything on a modern engine. There's a reason no one sells this stuff anymore.

Like others have said, waste of money, the OEM Acdelco work just fine.

From what I know at least on a gen 3 hemi platform the stock coils it can support at least a 1000hp. Cant remember what engine it was though.

 

Makes me wonder if spending extra money on spark plugs is worth it?
