Literally can't decide. 285 or 275

Hi all! So I want to pick up a RC 2.5 level kit, with Fuel +1 offset 18x9 wheels for my 2012

 

I wanted Nitto Ridge Grapplers in either

275/70r18(33.19x10.98)

Or

285/65r18(32.56x11.5)

 

I'm leaning towards the 275 because on the NNBS it'll fill the gap in the wheel wells. I'm just afraid of tires looking to narrow.

I like the 285 better. I'd rather have a tad wider than a tad taller. Better stance in my opinion.

 

Both will look good, and most won't even know the difference.

I have 285/75r18 on stock wheels. I love them. Looks beefy and fills out the fender space great. Mine measure out to a 34.8 x 11.60.

What brand tires?

 

The ridge grappler 285 is only 32.5x11.5

I think this is a tough choice! Both sizes would look good! Maybe consider another deciding factor like price or date of manufacture...

I think you'll find that the 275/70/18's are considerably cheaper than the 285/65/18's. The 275's on a 9" wide rim won't look too skinny. And, the 275 tire will wear a little better, have less road noise, and less rolling resistance....because there's a little less rubber on the road. But, they're over 33" tall, so they'll fill out the wheel wells. My vote would be for the 275/70/18's. There's lots of tire options in that size too.

The narrower tire will perform better. I have 275/60/20 on my summer rims, they're 33.1 tall but look narrow to me. Wish I had went wider..besides the height really kills the off the line power.

Here are 18x9 Fuel +1 offset with 285/70/18 Toyo muds. Barely fit without trimming. I have a key lift cranked 2" up.

I would do the 285s, thats just me.
