I have a new 2017 High Country 6.2 8 speed with the hesitation/surge. Most annoying vehicle I've ever driven. Completely unexceptable. The dealer says its normal and chevy won't help. Selling the truck and will never own another.

I have a 17 silverado CC z71 and I'm experiencing the same surge type feel. I had a 14 cc, which did the same thing, but not near as often as this 17. Almost feels like a misfire. I've had my truck since December 2016. ONLY ONE DAY, it didn't do it at all and I was very very stoked at how good the truck drove. I gave it 3000k miles to go away, but the surge/hesitation is still here. Scheduled to take my truck in Tuesday. I may force them to keep it till a fix is avail. It bug the heck out of me that these trucks do this as bad as they do.

It had 10 miles on it when I left the dealer. It now has 6500. Unfortunately I should have test drove it more than around the block on the dealers prescribed route.

I have the hesitation stumble, I fear taking it in because I put an Airraid MIT on....I fear they'll blame the MIT and void my warranty. So disgusted with the stumble.

GM knows about the surging but there is no fix for it yet. Bulletin # PIP5457B

You probably won't find anything on the net regarding it. Most automakers keep TSB info inside, and don't share with the public.

I know a a producer in NYC, I'm going to ask him if we can do a report on this.... just sick of being denied answers and being told..." It's normal"

I too will take this all the way, whether BBB, lemon law, or law suit. I'm so sick of paying this much money for a High Country and got the "its your problem now" treatment. If I don't get anywhere I will sell it because it is not drivable. This needs to get out. I will stay posted with results.

I have the surging hesitation in low rpm's between 1200-1600 feels like a misfire or timing issue.

My GM dealer ship told me GM knows about the problem but do not know why it is happening there's nothing they can do for me except told me to sit and wait. Thats bs. I called the GM customer service they opened a case for me then they closed the next day because they said GM doesn't have a fix for it and they can't fix it at this time so they would have to close my case? Are you kidding me what kind of customer service is that. I just filed paperwork for my state Lemon law I'm taking GM to arbitration they can buy this truck back I've never had such a crappy running brand-new vehicle shame on GMC. Oh yes and they told me that the vehicle is safe? How can the vehicle be safe when I don't even know what's wrong with it? I also get the fuel pump priming sound when I open up my front door what's going on GM if you can't fix it buy it back. Brand-new truck only 900 miles on it.

I have a general question.

 

When there is a problem like the surging issue; and GM admits there's a problem, do they have a time limit as to when they need to come up with a solution/fix for the problem?

 

Are there any legal guidelines that they need to follow, after admitting they are aware of a drivability problem?

 

Or could GM legally just sweep this issue under the rug, after a few years of just saying they are looking into it, but have no fix at this time?

i got nothing to add to this but thank you for posting it, i got loaned a new 17 while my 16 was in the shop. i wondered what that sound was, far as surging i drive in M so i really cant say anything about it

 

reading through the first page startup times seem pretty close to my 16 but i did notice in the same very short trip to work it seem to warmup faster? but thats prob due to the active grill shudders?

you guys are so impatient. There will be a fix soon. The 14-16s don't do it so I'm sure they'll fix the software.

 

I don't see what the big deal is.
