6.2 problems

so, how is the battle going?

Getting close to trade in assistance I think. My truck is still in the shop and the dealership has been working with TAC. The lifters have been replaced again, the ECM has been replaced and the engine has been disassembled and no problems found. TAC suggested to replace the lifters again and the oil pump. I went by the dealership last week, they needed the loaner back and they put me in a rental car, and they told me to pick out a truck and send in the stock number. So hopefully any day now GM will call the dealer for a trade in amount. It's been a lot of back and forth but I'm thankful the dealer has provided me with transportation. I hope it's over soon.

not sure what state you are in, but I was able to get $8000.00 from Chevrolet in Washington. Keep battling, they will take care of you. If you can not find a truck you want, have them order you one, not a quick process though.

I'm curious as to what trade in figure they will give me. The MSRP on my truck was 55 and some change but I was out the door around 41 something. I have around 31k on the odometer. I think I will hear from the dealer today.

Quite a few have dealt with trade assist. It seems the normal process is they give you MSRP value of your truck and in many circumstances charge you a fee per mile and put that against the MSRP of the new truck. Of course there are variables to that formula, some have claimed the dealer waived the mileage charge. So what you pay is MSRP of new truck - MSRP of your truck(minus miles x fee)...good luck

Do you know if the friends and family discount can be applied?

You should have skipped Mary and gone straight to Trump. A couple of tweets and you'd probably be in a new 2018 by now.

anything that is available should apply. this is pretty much just like a normal car deal, you just get a big down payment from GM. The price of the new truck can be negotiated, hopefully they are going to give you invoice or less, and battle for a fair trade in value for yours. your truck is going to be resold as is, not branded as a buyback.

Had a similar situation at 3700 miles and just 1000 miles into a 7000 mile cross country trip pulling a 7500lb TT. Bad lifter. Billion GMC in Iowa replaced the bank of 4 lifters. They turned it around in one day! Of course, I was a bit on edge for the next 2 - 3000 miles. She did fine even pulling grades out west. Before the fix, GMC Customer Service indicated that if the repair was to take too long, they would provide a truck so I could continue the trip, AND they would repair my truck and ship it back to South Carolina for me!! Good result by GMC and the Dealer. 10,000 + miles now and she still keeps on truckin'!

I also have lifter and cam problems. I purchased a 2018 Tahoe RST 35k miles Chevy has had my vehicle for 7 weeks. Nobody at Chevy including the senior supervisor can do anything about it.

Sorry to hear KRZ and welcome to the forum.

7 weeks seems like a very long time unless parts are on National back order. Have they told you what is taking so long, did you get a loaner truck for the time being? To me it seems almost criminal to expect someone to pay for 2 monthly payments while their new vehicle sits broken on the lot with no loaner. They should at least cover your payments if they didn't give you a loaner truck.
