USB not all songs showing

i think theres 2 ways music is displayed. one is using the mp3 tags so Just plugging in a usb stick it tries to list all the tags like albums artists etc. if the tags are incorrect or damaged you wont see those songs.

The other way is to browse the usb device as a file system. if you have the folders layed out by artist and album you will see everything but any missing tags or album art you wont get the eye candy on screen.

I plugged in a 256gb memory stick in the console and all my stuff is there. But ive used dbpoweramp to manage the tags. Just wish the system would read FLAC files

I own 3339 cds. I placed them on a seagate usb 2.0 TB hard drive. The truck readsthe drive. However, I also bought a seagate 3.0 usb TB drive and the truck did not read that one. I am confused. I love being able to listen to all my music by genre, album or artist.

I've got an iPod classic and have over 9000 songs on it. The only time I have any problem is when the iPod crashes. The truck reads the iPod fine, music and podcasts.

As mentioned above, I like the idea of a solid state hard drive with all my music on it. I can't imagine 3000 CDs. I have about 300.

I use a combination of my iPhone and my old iPod (Purchased around 2006). The iPhone is a heck of a lot easier to use because voice recognition works with it. I don't have to spend five minutes scrolling through the menu to find the album or song I want to listen to.

If your truck has apple car play, I recommend investing in a new iPod. The new ones have siri (voice recognition) and will work with your truck. For the iPod, you will need to also have the onstar 4G wireless plan.

If you have big collection as I do from over the years.

I have some songs with the stupid DRM in them so they will only work from the MACIPOD/Iphone but not from the USB key.

I suspect that may be happening to you. The worst part is I think APPLE dumped the DRM into some of my older MP3's

I have a very old iPod with 4000 songs on it. I backed up my songs to MP3 cds long ago. I use pandora on my phone. I just can't keep up with all the new stuff. The neat thing is it works in everything even my 92 Chevy truck with a cassette to iPod - iPhone plugs. I just don't see the reason to up date from there especially because it's all portable with earphones.
