Have always had good luck with ford... and the ford is much funnier to drive (much faster and more nimble) but the looks are not on par with chevy(I like the old school truck look). If I could put the ford 2.7ecoboost in a Chevy it would be perfect

Uh huh. Go back to smoking your pot, butt head.

Personally i would keep the Ford right now. I was in a similar situation in 2015. I had a Dodge megacab 1 ton that was about 1/2 paid off and i found a killer deal on a 2014 Chevy 1500 LTZ with the 5.3. It was the finance officers demo (my wifes uncle) and had around a thousand miles on it with some extras ( roll up bed cover, running boards, mud flaps etc). I had no need for a 1 ton anymore and loved the new 1/2 ton Chevy. traded for the Chevy & drove for about 2 years and had to sell it. Traded for a 08 Chevy 2500 6.0. I took a major hit on the trade in. I dont think i will buy new again unless i was keeping it for a long time because they do take such a drop in 2-3 years. Currently i have a 2014 Chevy High Country with 6.2 that i got for 26,000 in very good shape and the dealership gave me 19,500 for the 08 Chevy 2500 LT 6.0 that had hail and some body damage. In the future ill always look for a good deal on a 2-4 year old vehicle.

I think the price on the Chevy is good. I also think the dealer is giving you a good trade in value on the Ford. What I don't think is good is trading in a fairly new truck that is half paid off on a new truck just because you think it looks better.. You seem to like the Ford, especially the power and mpgs....I think in the long term you will be disappointed with the Chevy because it is well documented that the GM programming of the throttle response is pretty marginal; although a tune will fix that. I highly douby your 2.7 will outrun the 6.2; in fact the 3.5 Eco runs closer to the 6.2, but I digress. I get good mpgs on my 5.3 (26 mpg) going to Denver and 17 around town. Taking a bath on the Ford is not worth it.

Thank you for the thought out, down to earth thinking/response! Only thing I don't agree with is the Chevy vs ford lol (the 2.7eco is faster 0-60 than the 3.5 eco)

Lol someone always takes offense.. look at the 0-60 times, towing and mpg of the 2.7 eco and for me it would be perfect in the Chevy body

that price is lower than I paid for my "red tag" in june 2015.

of course you are paying more for a brand new one. it all comes down to whether you want to pay for the brand new one, or keep one you already paid half off.

Have you driven the brand new chevy? I think mine is incredibly quick and nimble for a full size truck. but you are the only one who can make the decision. Again, i don't think $37,000 is a bad deal at all.

The gm's will get you more slime in the boat than the Ford, do it!

Sent from my kayak

But less fishing trips because my payment would go up almost $200 a month

My main question was if it was a good deal.. I know little about the worth or resale of gm trucks but then people turned this into a ford vs Chevy epidemic

Traditionally, the GM has a slightly better resale value versus the Ford. Normally it goes: Tundra, Sierra, Silverado, F-150, Ram
