Good Price in a 2017? Should I buy?

Traditionally, the GM has a slightly better resale value versus the Ford. Normally it goes: Tundra, Sierra, Silverado, F-150, Ram

Interesting, always thought f-150 was up high on the list, right behind Toyota

Get the Chevy and don't look back but if you're looking to haul ass around town, why are you even driving a pickup? Personally I think the only reason to have anything more than the 5.3 is for towing and that's not completely necessary either. I've been down that road many times and to go fast, the LS7 did that for me but not in a truck. I have no desire to drive my truck fast but maybe it's 'cause I've been around too long....yeah, that's it LOL!!

My main question was if it was a good deal.. I know little about the worth or resale of gm trucks but then people turned this into a ford vs Chevy epidemic

Those numbers are a very good deal - at least here in the Seattle area where you can pay 10% sales tax - just paid 10.1% in Lynnwood last Friday shopping a rig with my son.

I was offered $24K for my trade - sold it for $30.3 - would have gladly taken $27.5 in trade - then I could still be driving it.

Ford has higher fleet and rental sales than GM. Keep in mind, there are more F-150s on the used market because of this which drives used prices down. Ford's Platinum and King Ranch do well, but the XL, SXT, XLT and to some extent Lariat don't do as well trade in versus the Chevy LT, LTZ and GMC SLE and SLT and Denali trims.

In all honesty Unless you're just dead set on getting out of your current truck asap, I'd wait it out a year, or even two if possible. Depending on how long you wait, You'll have the new body style out and be on the second year production of it. Or Wait until the end of this year and get a 17 model for less if that's the style you like, and it'll give you time to sell your truck privately as well.

Ya really in no rush to get out of my ford. Just about to lift it and rims and tires so before I do that I wanted to see if I should get into a body style I like before spending $2.5k

In the end, you already know the individual very well who can put a price and justification on personal preference. The rest of us are all just useless text opinions you are reading on a forum lol.

Haha very true, just wanted to make sure $10,600 off msrp wasn't a deal that was so good that I shouldn't pass it up. But from you guys it shoulds like its a good deal but not so good I would be stupid to not do it... if that makes sense lol

Yup, and all the test ran with the Ford 2.7 versus the Eco 3.5 had the 2.7 with the lower gear ratio 3.55 vs 3.31 for the 3.5. The 2.7 ran a 7.0 and the 3.5 a 7.2. put the same gear ratio in, and the 3.5 takes the 2.7 and the 6.2 still bests both of them.

Deals here in TX right now are 13.5k of msrp. If you are getting that, you are getting a great deal. As for faster, sure the ford is, but non diesel turbos do not have the longevity of the normally aspirated. People like to brand bash, but most american trucks are good these days. GMC seems to hold value best...

I currently have a 2015 F150 2.7 Ecoboost that's about half paid off. Love the power and the fuel economy the truck makes but like the Silverado body style better. So I found a dealer with some good sales and I wanted to see what you guys thought

2017 273 miles Z71 LT1 4x4 short bed V8 for roughly $37,000. But they are only

giving me 27,500 for my ford which I see private sales from $30,500-33,000. But I wouldn't pay taxes on the 27,000...

What's your guys thoughts?

You have received really good feedback and I totally understand your dilemma. We all try at one time or another to justify a major expense that we really know is not necessary. Wants and needs are often different but both are important considerations. Keep us posted as to what you decide! Either keeping your current truck or taking advantage of this deal will be a great choice!

I've gone back twice.. first time they were at 27,000 then as I was leaving 27,500. Then went back and they were stuck at 27,500 but threw in a spray in bed liner on the chevy...

My truck is fairly tricked out because it's the XLT with the bucket seats which gives it the large center counsel which in my option makes the truck look much nicer and usually brings more money

FYI, the center console with AC vents is only a $200 option and does very little to add to resale value. It is a dirt cheap option.

Nope. Fords tend to have the worst resale value. They can sell a lot of trucks but in the long run, their trucks suck and fall on their faces and so do their resale values.
