Made a quick 0 to 100 video of my 2017 Silverado Z71 Double Cab 4x4 5.3 I have a Spintech 6000 Pro Street muffler, K&N drop in filter and a Klug Performance tune. Just started on the tune and have some more work to do on it. Hopefully April 1st I will have some time slips for you next.

I did. I launched in 4hi, stalled it up and after the launch switch back to 2wd. That is how I launched my 2015 Silverado 4x4 with the 4.3 and my best 60 ft time was 2.17 with that truck.

Nice little run. In for 1/4 mile times. The motor doesn't seem to run out of steam after 5600. I may try bumping up shift points.

You don't have any issues dropping out of 4WD under such a heavy load? That would make me nervous.

Yeah dude launch in 4auto

When launching in 4auto to help with traction even with TC off the computer will pull 5 to 6 degrees of timing. Launching in 4hi the computer does not do that if you have TC off. My 2015 Silverado I tested that at the track. My best 60ft time with 4auto was 2.32 but in 4hi my best was a 2.17 and that was a 2015 Silverado with a 4.3 V6.

Would I recommend someone does that all the time on there truck no. I don't even do that very often but when I'm at the track I'm looking for the fastest pass I can make with my vehicles and launching it in 4hi and switching to 2wd will give you your best launch out of your truck. Leaving it in 4hi and leaving it there will even give you a better time than 4auto if you want to not risk damaging your transfer case. These trucks are not cheap and I would only do what you personally feel safe doing.

quick question. WHY? its a truck...

The better question would be why not? What can I say I know I'm the odd ball who doesn't lift my truck and put bigger tires on my truck and I choose to drive fast in my vehicles. Just my preference is to see how fast I can make my truck. I'm sure down the road my truck will get a Pro Charger kit.

Oh I'm sure once I get to the Pro Charger part of my mods I will see what I can do to beef up the transmission. I think the Pro Charger kit puts the 5.3 well over 500hp and 500tq and that transmission is not built for that kind of power. That is the down side to racing or going off road stuff starts to break.

Your transmission (6L80e) is waaay stronger than you think. If you PROPERLY (key word here) tune it, than it can withstand a good amount of power for a long time. There've been people pulling 800-900 hp on that bone stock transmission without being easy on it.

Tell my old Corvette with a 6L80 that.

quick question. WHY? its a truck...

This would be something I would have said until the first time I ran my truck down the 1/4 mile strip at the local track. It is an adrenaline rush like no other. It makes perfect sense to me now. My cousin had an identical truck to mine so racing head to head even Steven for money and bragging rights was awesome.
