I have a ltz and I'm try to figure out what is leather in the car so I know what products to use. Is only the front of the seats leather and the steering wheel. And the rest vinyl?

This question can also be answered by what is leather? At one time I thought leather was animal hide and (in modern times) a product found on the finest of cars and apparel. I don't doubt there has to be some animal DNA in a product to call it leather, but my truck interior and my new leather shoes get cleaned with the same stuff I would use on plastic or vinyl.

"Leather" is very loosely defined when it comes to consumer vehicles. Leather in a car is as close to being an animal hide as a piece of paper is to being a tree. Use the cleaning products recommended in the owner's manual.

I use Turtle Wax Ice Interior Detailer which works on leather, plastics, vinyls and carpets and have had great results. Yeah i know there are much higher quality products out there. But for $7.99 a bottle from your local Wally World...it's hard to justify spending $20 a bottle for stuff you have to order from a specialty place online just to clean vinyl and low grade leather.

Meguiar's leather conditioner or interior detailer also worthy of consideration.

Agree with everyone else, best to use a product approved for all. I love mothers VLR and griots garage interior Detailer.

It's coated leather, nothing much to do except get the dirt off or give it a sheen or uv protection (using whatever interior stuff), it's coated with a urethane and sealed. I do what these guys suggest

all purpose cleaner, and a brush, and vac, followed by 303 for uv. I'm liking the megs xpress wax too , either of those I I can use it on interior and exterior as opposed to separate products..advantage of express wax is I spray wax between waxes so I can do trim and car all in one go without spray wax, then 303

so may stay that route when my 303 runs out, makes keeping things up quicker especially on the outside and provides the uv protection.

For really dirty I did do this on the wifes van using just the leatherique cleaner....some will argue it's not really needed for coated leather

It seemed to be amazing at cleaning to me shocking really, though I wondered with a couple of applications of APC it would have been just as good. But that's because we hadn't done anything to it's leather in 9 years, nothing zilch, wipe with a wet mf is all.

But for periodic light cleaning on the truck I use the apc.
