Nope. No GMT900 trucks have a cabin air filter. GM did offer a retrofit kit, but none rolled off the assembly line with cabin filters.

Believe me, I know. Got plenty of Moab dust inside my Suburban where my avatar pic was taken.

Add the retro kit so that you can breathe clean air.

Alas, when you buy all of this

That is the most amazing diff cover gasket I have ever seen. It is very similar, if not identical, in design to the reusable trans pan gasket. Yes, it's AC Delco, and yes, it cost 3.5 times as much as a Fel-Pro paper gasket. I'm down.

We are lucky in that our new 2016 at least GM trucks/SUV's have a reuseable diff gasket. It was nice seeing that when I changed out the rear diff fluid on our 2016 Burb.

I am expecting a fight when I remove my tranny pan and diff cover, better to have and not need, eh? I'll look forward to not having to scrape paper or RTV off of my axle housing behind the sway bar. Was no fun at all on my 2004.

I got an extra oil drain plug and an M12x1.75 hex nut also. Thinking about experimenting with drilling a hole in a suitable location on the new pan, and welding the nut on the inside, so I can have a drain plug. Any naysayers?

So, tomorrow is oil change day again. Hopefully the last one for a while. Interesting, last night I was being dumb and revved it up in park to the preset 4000rpm limiter for several seconds at work. Engine was silent afterwards, and not a single mechanical sound this morning. Oil pressure was also great. Seems like I blew some trash out of somewhere and perhaps the oil filter finally caught it. Anyway, I have been using Mobil Super High Mileage oil because of the frequent oil changes to clean out the engine, and it's not expensive. Any pros or cons to switching to Valvoline Max Life High mileage oil for a couple bucks more? I usually use Valvoline oil in my engines, but the Mobil was more economical for several frequent oil changes.

I'll say it before someone else does, the secret to long engine life is no reving. But I'm sure you know that.

when I was young driving 4speeds I did it a lot. Wanted to hear those headers and glass packs. Even though I still drove aggressively when I cut the reving I did less rebuilding. Still fun though.

I'm aware. Like I said, I was being dumb. Seemed to clear out some garbage in one or more oil passages.

Went to the Wal-Mart on my lunch break. Decided to stick with the Mobil Super High Mileage, for the sake of consistency. PF48E again, too. Haven't had one of these leak yet. Also, even though the oil looks really good at the moment, I'm going to run another bottle of Gunk Motor Medic Motor Flush through it. Now my cargo area is 90% full of maintenance items. Yay. $500 in tune up parts should go a long way toward a healthier truck, eh?

If GM didn't want it to rev that high, it would be governed. That has always been my motto......

I do miss the old days of 18 inch glass packs turned out behind the tires. Its hell to get old and finally grow up.

Matter of fact, now that I think of it some vehicles do just that. They go about 2K without it in gear. Another nanny to protect us from ourselves.

Back in our day they would rev till the valves floated, or large pieces decided to leave the block in violent and expedient manner.:banghead:

All of my GM vehicles since 1989 have had rev limiters that kicked in right about the red line on the tachometer.

Had another thought too, while reading up on desludging an engine. After I run the motor flush through it and drain the oil, I am contemplating spraying a can of carb cleaner in the oil pan through the drain plug hole, and see what runs out. It's just so clean and dry under there that I don't want to pull the pan and do it right...yet
