2015 Yukon XL. I have 3 friends with this same truck and all of theirs had failed. I thought maybe I was just lucky, but not anymore. Mine failed yesterday. The part is on national back order. I am guessing this is because so many of them are failing. One dealership said good luck finding one as they have 7 customers currently waiting for the part. My dealer said they have been going aftermarket, and buying as many as they can. But now you cannot even get an aftermarket one because of the demand.

One of my friends who went to an independent shop said they were told that all of these condensers are faulty. They all fail in the exact same place. Said there is a bad weld from production.

A quick search of the internet reveals that this is a widespread problem. The fact that the part is on back order would indicate that demand is high. These condensers should not be failing. Of course GM will not acknowledge that there is a problem. Instead, they make the customer pick up the $700 tab for replacing a part they know is defective.

It's been a bad month. Prior to this, my truck was in the shop because the pump in the transmission failed sending metal shrapnel through the transmission. Took 11 days to fix, but at least it was under warranty ($2,400.00) along with the leaking transmission cooler line. Only had 248 miles left on the 100,000 mile power train warranty.

I feel sorry for those that have a 16 with the horrible 60k mile warranty.

Don't bother contacting GM. They couldn't care.

This is the last GM product I will own.

If you are thinking of buying a GM product, don't do it. You will regret wasting your money. The 15s and up are total garbage. From wind buffeting noise to transmission line leaks to condenser failures, etc these trucks trucks are horrible.

What about putting an after market on it like a murray part? oreilly has them in stock; murray specialises in tons of a/c components. The only problem would be the dealer wouldnt put it on for you.

I have used murray ac stuff and they are good quality.

Mine has been on order since May 30 with no word on a date. GM has completely failed its customers with this issue. They truly don't care and I have heard their broken record of "I'm sure this has been very frustrating for you" or "we can imagine this has been frustrating" at two dealerships, the GM "customer care" line, Facebook and twitter. Terrible customer service. Terrible product.

I would probably be asking for some type of incentive from GM to make me stay a customer. Maybe a $5,000.00 voucher (or more?) good for the purchase of a new vehicle from your favorite GM dealer? Take the voucher up to Laura and get 20% off MSRP plus the voucher value and you can be riding in a new vehicle less than 24 hours BAM Life is to short to be messing with a needy vehicle that aggravates the chit out of you. Once the old junker is repaired sell it yourself and pay off the new one for a free and clear title.

I'm that original owner of 2015 Tahoe LT.

I had to replace 2 AC Condenser already

Never buying GM again.

My service guy even told me "when we see that model drive in we guess AC condensers ".

I have a 2015 Tahoe LTZ. Condenser failed on the day we broke a heat record July 21st. 110 degree day. My vehicle only has 21,000 miles. No one knows when the part will be in. Kathy, from GM Customer Service today told me that I was lucky the dealer is allowing me to drive a Malibu while I wait on the part. I reminded her that I was unlucky for buying a POS $65,000 vehicle from an unethical company that doesn't have a clue about customer service. No timeframe in sight. NEVER BUYING A GM PRODUCT AGAIN. The dealership said that this is the first they've seen of this. I'd say that they LIE!

AC condenser on my 2015 Silverado went out. I have been in a rental car for 2 months and they don't even have an ETA for when the part will be available.

Yikes, are the condensers the same for Silverado and Tahoes? Is it covered within or past the 36k warranty? Feel like I should just order one in anticipation of mine going out.

Not a bad plan, it's about to be a major recall but they won't pull the trigger until the parts are on standby.
