I'm going to be ordering a cam in the next month or two and was wondering what others have gone with. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully you have a good tuner down there!

From what I gathered when I was looking into cams, it's a 8-10 hour job for someone that's never done it before and the horsepower gains aren't huge. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but there may be more cost effective horsepower somewhere else?

Nothing beats the sound of a cammed V8 loping along.

Several good tuners in the Houston area, I'm not overly concerned about the install time. From the research I've done it appears that there are several people running a cam, long tubes, exhaust, intake, tune, and achieving 400whp. I'm not really interested in going FI at this point so a cam is the next step for me.

Did you end up staying stock or installing a different cam? Thanks.

I ended up staying stock, and am happy with it. Life is taking different directions so I'll end up with a motorcycle instead of fancy wheels, long tubes, and engine work. Intake exhaust and tune is enough for me!

I guess I should mention that I already have longtubes, intake, 6.2 manifold/throttle body, exhaust, and a tune.

I will give BTR a call, I haven't seen much on his cams for this gen motor. Looks like he has some nice stuff for the previous gens though.
