Kicker Sub Question

Should have just mailed me the sub Phil. Lol!!

While I'm sure it sounds decent, the kicker option is just too much for me. I'm thinking of making a full length box for a single 12 and would sound killer.

I was working on the Front/Rear Parking Assist Sensor Module. It is located behind the passenger side rear seat. I was digging into the module to explore the option of adding the front sensors since I already have back. I had the seat and sub removed, then got hit with hail damage. Got my truck back on Wednesday.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought, if your hail damage took out something in your cab as well then that's some heck of a hail storm!!! I'm sure you're glad you have your truck back!

One heck of a storm alright. My truck was in the shop when Round 2 came.

Thats some giant a$$ hail! Do any of you have the non-bose system with sub only? (not the additional speakers amp that goes under the driver side dash) Any feedback will be helpful. Also, is it even worth doing just sub or would that just be a waste of money versus getting the complete kit with the speaker amp?

This is what I have. I don't have the Amp for the 4 door speakers. Just sub and amp for the rear.

Kind of tempted to buy it now. I am curious as to how much of a difference the speaker amp makes for roughly double the price.

It would be hard to estimate that. I have the amp and sub and it's night and day difference. I am glad I got both. Albeit, I don't have anything to compare it to other than the stock non-Bose system.

Good to know, did you also replace your door speakers or did you leave those stock?

I left my door speakers stock. I was going to change them, but I'm happy with what I have now. The Kicker system with amp really woke it up IMO.

I upgraded my door speakers as well...I did the fronts first then the rears a month or so later to ease the pain. I noticed an increase is output, improved crisper sound in the mids/highs. I was able to get the adapter plates and pigtail harnesses so I didn't have to cut into any factory wiring.

Anyone notice a "double chime" when you first get into the truck with this Kicker system? Doesn't bother me or anything; just wanted to know if anyone else noticed it or not. It sounds like it doubles the first chime. Sorry if that's a terrible explanation; hopefully you understand what I'm describing lol.

Yup. Kinda sounds garbled on the first chime. This is a known issue and typical.
