Newbie, on this forum and proud to say after ten years I bought a new truck. First, old truck was a 2500HD 6.0 had 126,000.00 miles and was the best truck I have ever owned (all have been chevy, is there any other!!) Average 16 per gallon Hwy and 13 in town, don't tow or haul anything very much just like the 2500HD. Actually ten years ago the 1500's only came in a short bed, hence the 2500 standard bed. So I thought I had better get a new one while mine was still worth some money (trade). Ordered another 2500HD crew 6.0, silver ice, coco/dune interior. Ordered just the way I wanted, no Z71 just underbody shields, mud flaps, roof marker, no nav. just use my phone hook up to a usb cord, buckets and leather, all weather floor liner and LTZ. About 350 miles since last Friday, Drove on the hwy. yesterday and average so far is 15.3 and best is 16.2, not bad and will get better with more miles. Good and smooth and a lot more room in the inside compared to the 07, so far I am impressed. Will posts pics if it ever stops raining.

Congrats, man. Show us some pics. I really like that you just ordered what you wanted. I picked up a base model for pretty cheap but I love it, I don't miss any of the extra stuff personally although I understand everyone has their preferences.

That's pretty good MPG, I am lucky to avg 12 and I drive 70 and all hwy. With E85 I get 9.5

Congrats on the new truck - I just traded my 07 HD gasser for a 17 DMax. Have had it only 2wks but love it. I also ordered it just the way I wanted it. My 07 never got that good of mileage even when new - after 92K mi it was down to 13-14 hy and 9-10 city and 7-8 towing. Dmax is already getting 13 city 19 hy - have not towed yet.

Thanks, I was torn between a DMax or gasser, always wanted a DMax and I like the new hood. I don't tow that much so he gasser was the best option for me. That is good mileage thought. I even like your color!!

Congratulations on the new rig. Huge fan of ice silver, Any pics?

Idk.....16mpg is not hard at 65mph. Seems like for every 5mph over 65, I get about 1mpg less.

Thanks! Suppose to clear up tomorrow, I will get out and wash and post pics. So far pretty impressed, the cab has a lot more room

than my old 07, I'm 6/4 and thought I was gonna have to move the seat up. I agree with your assessment of every 5mph over 65 get

1 mpg less, I try to keep it at 2000 rpm which is about 70 mph. In town its down to about 12.5 mpg, I feel it should get better with more miles.

Congrats on the new truck! Happy to hear of someone else getting good gas mileage. Was beginning to think I was nuts for getting what I'm getting in mine. I keep the mpg setting on the "last 25 miles" mostly and my "best" is 17.8mpg. I changed the setting to "last 400 miles" the other day for $h!ts and giggles and it was in the mid 14's. I hit 15-16 daily.

It really is all in how you drive and where you have to drive though.

Glad you love the new rig

What gearing is your axle's? I've got the 4.10 and get 13mpg city 15-16 on the highway (cruise set to 66).

I can't wait for summer blend fuel to see if it gets better. These trucks ride so nice even being the HD.

I thought all newer 2500's are equipped w/4.10 axle. Anyway....My Max Avg. is 19.8 have no idea how that came about. City driving is killing things...Under 12mpg.

4:10 axle!! City is bad, highway a lot better, checked my best today still less than 500 miles showed 12.3 average and 16.7 best. Lowered air pressure down to 50 pounds all the way around, rides much better, should be better for the tires. Added Carr Super Hoops ii ten inch wide on driver and passenger, look good, work good. Trying to send some pics but file too large might need some help. Anyway thanks for all the congrats. I'm really enjoying this truck.

Currently, for consumer trucks,

6.0`s get 4.10 and the GM automatic.

6.6`s get 3.73 and the Allison

Fleet order (2500 and 3500) trucks can optionally get the 3.73``s with the 6.0.

Chassis cab 3500 is same as consumer trucks -- 6.0 with 4.10 and 6.6 with 3.73
